I have NO doubt more RS's will be built...too hard for them to pass up those $$.

Yup, they are a for-profit business after all, right? I know that PAG wants my US DOLLARS and I'm more than happy to give it to them. Hope you guys at PCNA/PAG are listening.... I just have to be patient to get the RS and GT4. I can be very patient since I bought a 991 GT3.

If the production #s speculated for 2016 MY are accurate, these will be very difficult to get. Few, if any, dealers will get more than one and some will get none.
My guess is these unicorns will have a marginal impact on GT3 resale values.

I think they are actually being smart...build as many as the market will bare. My guess is that they'll build more than 300....maybe 500 or 700. I like how some of the folks on here said they were going to stop building RSs/GT4s/GT3s at the end of this fall....yeah OK.

Not to be a contrarian, but 300 additional cars is about an 17-18% in supply (based on Mjones reported sales). That is a big addition to supply. If prices don't go down it has to be because there is a lot of pent up demand (reflected by the premiums over MSRP). IMHO prices have to come down, at least the premiums will. To believe they will not is to believe there is an inexhaustible supply of buyers for GT3s. I find that hard to understand.

Seems like 300 is the one consistent "fact" amongst all the noise, even at that number I think it will have a modest impact on values. May at least kill the MSRP+$10k or more dealers are asking for used GT3s.

I'm struggling to remember ever seeing a single example when a replacement engine from Porsche decreased the value of a 911 (not that I've spent the last twenty years comparing numbers). If anything its always been the opposite due to mileage?

Buy it, drive it, and in 40 years no one will remember engine replacement! In 40 years, if you're still alive and worried about resale then good job you because you still own the car and hopefully have enjoyed it which is most important.....you think the original owners of a 70's era 911 RS back in day were worried about what they were going to sell them for in future????? My simple 2 cents is many put far to much time into resale value discussions. If resale is only concern you probably should choose a different hobby.
