Yeah, that would be the theory...whether they would make a difference in a crash is another matter.

I was able to get the diver's side off after what felt like an eternity. I presently do not have the energy to tackle the pass. side.

Mike in Ca stated a thread detailing removal. He found it relatively easy. My .2 visors came off without much fuss. This one not so much. I may order leather ones from Suncoast anyway.

Thanks for that. The soak in a bag approach is great rather than sitting there rubbing it for 15 minutes. I wonder if using a blow dryer to heat the sticker up first will expedite the process quicker ?

Ummmm... Not sure? I wouldn't think so.

The alcohol soak in the bag allows the sticker to literally "lift" off the visor with little mess. I think heating it would not make it come off in one piece possibly. I wouldn't want the vinyl visor altered at all by heat.

You do need a little work getting the left over adhesive out of the textured visor for maximum results.

15 minutes was a safe bet. Probably can come off in 10 min.

"Pillow" is there as a U. S. mandate.

The ACLU contacted Porsche and from what I understand the hunchback community fought for their installation after RoW hunchbacks have issues with the buckets. Especially in Transylvania.

I don't believe the pillows are on the N.A. 918 buckets and they also fall under US Dot.

Removed the pillow. Like the new look very much. Weighed them. 6.9 oz. Removing from the center of the car near head position effectively lowers the center of gravity. First drive proved enlightening. Turn-in is sharper. Acceleration is fiercer. Gas mileage improved.

Yes, it speeds it up quite a bit, and yes it comes off in one piece. Leaves more residue, but that's easy to clean. You can use more heat on the stickers on the back of the buckets, those took 5 minutes each with a blow dryer. Both came off in one piece.

Done. Never would've thought about doing without this. Took 1 minute.
Looks much better. Thanks for the info.

Great thread! I did mine in about 15 seconds each with a trim removal tool. So worth it! Thank you OP.
