Guys you have humbled us with your incredible generosity. The response from our P-car friends has been wonderful to say the least. It brings tears to our eyes just to think about how this little far away community in the interweb thingy has delivered such real, tangible and meaningful difference to a small group of islanders in the South West Pacific!
We have very limited internet at the moment, but I just wanted to pop in here and say a big thanks and give an update :-)

Gents a quick thanks to tell you we made our initial goal of 20K USD in only 72 hours. What an incredible effort, mostly buy "internet buddies" and car friends the work over via Rennlist, our local RSG in NZ and Pistonheads etc. Im very proud to know you all. The whole experience has been very humbling I must say.
Joanna and I are on the ground and its been a huge source of inspiration to keep us going having you all behind us in spirit, payers and fiscal gratitude. Rest assured we will be doing everything we can to deploy our fundraising funds efficiently, effectively and quickly to the families affected by the cyclone in the local village of Mele. Infact even though the fund raining continues (we have increased the goal now to 30K - believe me you can never have enough money when you look at what is needed in these situations and comparatively it is a modest sum), we will start tomorrow to procure building materials using our own funds until the fundraising is complete in 26 days time. We hope to rebuild half a dozen dwellings if we can reach 30K USD.
I dont have much time on the internet unfortunately these days but I just wanted to check in and thank you all and your incredible generosity. Everyone has given selflessly, some to such a degree (average donations to date $200 USD per head which will give you some idea of how large some have donated to a country they may have not before heard about and on teh request and plee of a guy and his wife they have never met!!), that frankly makes me so proud to be part of this community and really humbles my own interpretation of generosity making me want to work even harder to being a better person. I think its easy for us to get all caught up and grumpy sometimes in our own little bubbles, it was happening to me a bit recently, and an experience like this really "hits the reset button" on what the priorities in life really are/should be! Thanks for including us and our people/villagers in your prayers and we will be in touch very soon - please pass on our URL to any you know who may be wishing to make a direct difference to a community in need...
