I'd have to disagree here. It's not difficult to get a color sampling app (which I always have running because I work in design) to show that the picture of the dress, as taken, is a goldish brown and a bluish white. There is a picture on amazon of the dress that shows it as clearly blue and black. I suspect this has more to do with the camera sensor and lighting situation.

If you adjust the exposure of this picture, you'll see gold and white. Our retina has this ability to lower the brightness of a picture to see the real color. However, if someone wear contact lenses too much and their eyes are harmed, their adjustment ability would become weaker, and they'll find this dress gold and white, I mean sometimes. If it is gold and white all the time, well, good luck.....
