Real deal info on GT3RS-year three from Daytona

Woah. Hold on a second. Let me bring my "jump to conclusion" mat out and sprinkle it with some facts. Fact one: the new Targa GTS was recently announced as a 2016 model, right? Conclusion one: they will probably continue making it into at least early 2016. Conclusion two: even if 991.2 does go all turbo, perhaps it will be just the Carrera (and Carrera S) lines but GTS would remain naturally aspirated? I just don't see the factory building both turbo 991.2 cars and 991.1 GTS as naturally aspirated ones all at the same time. Anyways... All I know is if you want to get PTS naturally aspirated 911 later this year, getting a Targa GTS 2016 model is the way to go.

Lumbergh, himself probably trolls around here on RL. He had an '82 SC with a whaletale.

What make you thinking there will be a 991.2 GT3?
I guess the 997 logic but this is a 991 guys!
Folliwing the "997" logic then there should be a 991.2 GT3 RS as well
which indeed is not the case! So 997 logic is invalidated

Thank you for the info, sounds reasonable
about 991 GT3 RS any confirmation on current GT3 PDK S
or should we expect shorter gear ratio or either 8 gears?

I really hammered him on the electric use phase of the race/street cars. He was very very forthcoming with all the info and was clear....NO electrical boost until 992. To me this means lots of turbos....to which he replied "of course".

Thanks for the info, as I frankly am relieved. Am I the only one who thinks Her Prof Doc Hatz needs a lesson in press interviews and perhaps a pre approved script? We can laugh about all our thread hand wringing as silliness, but the source was not Joe Schmo from Kokomo.

Finally a post with some meat on the bones vs 100% speculation--thank you!
This is all GREAT information to me and bring on the turbos while my NA continues to appreciate
anonymous 918 you may want to grab that other one now...

Nordschleife Master
Well that's great news for the 991 GT3 owners, assuming this actually pans out like this. My questions are: #1 - any news about the possibility of a MT in the RS, #2 - can we assume there may never be another GT2, #3 - will the RS carry the RWS? Thanks in advance.

I am one thinking since ever post it will stay 9a1 probably either 3.8 but increasing to 4 liters is not a new engine for sure
Mr Hatz should explain what he had in mind when he said the RS put the basis for the engine used then in all upcoming991.2 but detuned and slightly turbocharged
if it ll stay the current 9a1 but RS without turbo what the hell he was referring of RS 991.2 only similarities which 991.1 should not have with 991.2 ???
