Default Too many PCCBs!

Sitting here at my dealer while my car gets its 10K mile service. There are three 991 GT3s in inventory, and another on the way. Two white, one black, one sapphire blue. All are optioned with PCCBs, extended leather and front axle lift and have an MSRP of $160K+. Argghhhh!!! Why can't there be a lightly-optioned car with non-ceramic brakes in inventory? Something appropriate for the track...

At least this way I'm not tempted to end my 991S lease two years early and jump into one of these babies.

Dealers make more money with pccb. I learned a dirty secret about some unscrupulous dealers that will bypass people on wait lists if you spec an order with multiple options that bring the purchase price significantly over the guy in front of you in line. The people with stripper orders are constantly being 'delayed'....

Two can play that game: get your order in the system with confirmed commission number and deposit by going crazy with options, then reduce your options later if desired.

Two options on mine. Red gauges and fire extinguisher. I was feeling a little spendy the day I ordered it hence the FE.

My dealer ordered 3 cars all at around $140k msrp, 1 sat on the floor for 2 weeks, the others were sold before they arrived in the US. They don't like cars sitting around and seem to have a better sense on what the market wants.

Are there any pictures of your Gt3 with your beautiful 458? In the hopefully near future, I would love to add the 458 as a stable mate. I drove a 458 months ago and of course loved the sound, looks interior and light feel. Quite different from the GT3 in many ways, which is just one of the reasons to own the pair.

My dealer doesn't play that game I ordered a lightly option TT and GT3. Got both in a timely manner.

You will like a 458. I have had one for several years .

My car is about 140k also. If I ordered it last year most likely it would be 135k. Thats because last year, the LWB was not available. All of my past cars are fully options porsche, BMW, MB, and RR. Then I got my scuderia and it changed my perspective. A car like a scuderia or a GT3, you do not need options. Its a personal thing of course but you do not need any option to make them good/excellent cars. My scuderia does not have matts, no carpets, no power seats, no auto dimming mirrors, no garage door openers and my door panels is just CF. But being less makes it the best car I have right now. I am excited to hopefully pair my GT3 with my scud. Its been 4 years since I had a Pcar and the GT3 is perfect come back.

Interesting discussion. I took a different approach to this one, a 2015, my 13th Porsche, and 2nd GT3. My first GT3, a 2010, was a relative stripper with steel brakes and almost exclusively used on the track, trailered to and from. I had at least $50k in modifications to the car and the cost of truck, trailer, extra wheels/tires, and frequent (obsessive I guess) maintenance and set up work. All in, a much higher cost of ownership than my current 2015 with leather, some carbon stuff, and ceramic brakes that I intend to drive to and from the track on a more limited basis. It's just as much fun, my wife will actually drive it, and my bet is that my lap times will be lower than the extensively tweaked 2010. A couple of years older (me!) and I guess my expectations have changed a bit.

I will say that I tried a new Boxster S and a well optioned 2014 C4S after the first GT3, but neither captured my interest like either GT3.

Next time I will not be ordering the FE. There are much better after market FE's.
