Default Gas mileage MPG vs. other 911

I know most of you prob do not care about MPG, or put differently, if you care about MPG you are buying the wrong car. But I still find it interesting, I think it speaks to the technological achievement for Porsche.

In my limited time with my 991 GT3, I found that it has surprisingly good MPG. I think I have been seeing MPG around 17 MPG. True, that I was in break-in miles, and I was trying to take it easy (I still took it to 8k). But this is the first time that I have a performance car that is close to the claimed MPG.

Just out of curiosity, what are some of your experiences?

In normal mixed driving I'm also getting around 16-17. Freeway only; about 22 if I'm not pushing too hard. These are pretty close to the EPA sticker numbers. My Carrera S did 26 on the highway but it was geared quite a bit taller.

I got almost 24mpg on my last longish highway drive (75mph). Good enough, especially considering how high the engine revs at that speed.

It's really pretty efficient and amazing. Considering the nature of the engine. I wonder how this compares to other turbo charged engine.

I was getting 9 mpg in my old GTR for city driving.

Try driving it at the track. The standard tank lasts about 75-80 mins drive time!

Hwy driving at 120kms/hr I'm seeing 9.5 l/100km or 25mpg US or 30 mpg Imp.

Yes it's not a 991 GT3 but still pretty damn amazing for 991 TT @ 520HP....

My 997.1 GT3 could get slightly better on the same drive.... but only 415HP.

On the track it's a bit different!

I saw an average of just over 19 MPG in my X51 C2S.

I'm just under 17 MPG in my GT3.

on my 10 GT3 got as high as 27 mpg highway from Cincy to Columbus. On my 11 GTS with PDK I'd get about 30 on that same trip. I can do 44 in my C-Max. For some strange reason I choose the GT3 for making that trip

i'm at 15.4 in my 997.2 TTS cab, which for me is pretty damn good. My Raptor is pulling 9.7 with 100 less hp, about twice the weight.

The GT3 does come with a FREE option of an extended range fuel tank because Porsche thinks people are cross shopping this car against the Prius.

I saw 18mpg on the highway once. I typically get around 16mpg or less.

seems pretty bad for mpg. although might be partially a perceived thing because of the small tank.

when daily driving in the few weeks i had it t the end of this summer, i was going through a tank about every 2 days. 250-300 km/tank.

For a modern, direct-injected engine, the efficiency sucks. Or course, that's not why we buy a GT3. I can get close to 30mpg highway in my Cayman, mostly keeping it in double digits. Mostly

These are close to my numbers in a 2015 GT3; saw 27 MPG once in a 991 TTS (used the "sail/autostart" button which made a small improvement ) on the highway
