Excellent video of two of the most desired sports cars on the market today/tomorrow. Both of these cars will be spoken about for quite some time. The 991 GT3 will hold its value just like the previous ones'. I bet in 6-9 months there will be plenty of demand on the secondary market. Any one looking to trade up to the RS will not have any problem selling their GT3. I do agree with his exhaust note statement. I do think the GT3 has one of the better sounding sound tracks ever on a 911 variant.

I missed the exhaust note from my S. It's back I spades. I also like the metallic rattle.

The ferrari has all the advantages, and every reason to win this test on paper..
Once again, it's amazing how the gt3 can even get close to it and it's funny how chris harris and the bunch find it to be such a good rival to the speciale where on paper it seems like it should be a no match..
I am fairly confident that your weight delta is suspect; the Speciale doesn't lose 500-600 lbs vs. a standard 458.

For everyone who says OMG the GT3 is a bargain, the new ZO6 will almost certainly shade them both in every area. Fortunately there is a market for all 3 cars!

I think a great starter garage would be all three....ahem....four when the RS comes out.

Great vid. I think his biggest mistake was selling that GT3 RS 4.0 for the Ferrari ...

I agree...no way the special is that light. Ferrari weights tend to be ideal and not real world. The 458is actually heavier than the 430 and the special is only 200 lbs lighter than the 458.

I think it is amazing that this version of GT3 can even play in the same track with a car that is over double in price.
What compares to the Gt3 in the same price range? Or better yet 1/2 the price of the gt3.

Agreed, that would make a good smack down.
But the driver in the Z06 needs to wear a heavy gold chain and a toupee

Chris Harris back test driving a Ferrari is good to see! Not sure if it was a factory car with all the "support" or a personal car lended for the occasion...??!!!
i think it was the former as this car looks very similar to the one used by EVO.

One of both, indeed!
BUT.
I barely see myself driving to work in a GT3, nevermind a Speciale. That would be lots of $ sleeping in the garage for the occasional Sunday drive. Not sure i'd put it on the track either. But that's me, i guess im not at that "game" level, so i dont get it! "If you have to ask how much............."

My winner: GT3!

And I'll bet if given the chance to drive the Z06, an owner of the GT3 will walk away impressed with the Vette, but leave with the impression that the Porsche provides better feel and a driving experience.

Chris did not say the Speciale was a better car. I own a scuderia so I have a tendency to be bias for a ferrari. But from what I understand with his comments was that each has its own points, no better than each other.

I have a GT3 coming in March but there is a reason I decided to get back to a porsche. I have had 2 911 before, my last one was a 997.2 C4s. The GT3 satisfies my want for a track car but can be civilized if need be. It can be my car on a different day but It can be better sometimes than my scud. I love my scud so much, I have no plans of selling it but the GT3 will beat most supercars out there.
