On it's way through the canal! For those of you guys who have never seen the Panama Canal, you should go down there and check it out some time. A truly amazing and fascinating engineering feat.

Been there, it's quite amazing. Sad to think about all the people that died building it, it's a shame. Engineering feat it truly is.

Default All Aboard the Green Dale

The last update of the Green Dale status showed next destination as US SAN, however it also showed arrival date as 12/7, two days later that original plan. The original plan must not have taken into consideration the near 24 hour layover in San Juan and a similar layover before going through the Panama Canal.

Bummer. I wonder if they can make up any time on the way? (FWIW, I don't know jack about boats... so that may be a really dumb question.)

Given the ship lands in san diego, then the cars have to be off loaded, then trucked in an enclosed trailer 250 miles up to LA...what is a realistic date at this point, for delivery?

In my experience the biggest issue isn't the distance (I'm only 25 miles away from the port) but how long it takes to process the cars at port and how long they have to wait for the enclosed trailer(s). Last year I had the longest wait I've had to date as it took two weeks to get an enclosed trailer to pick up my turbo. The problem was that the car arrived in mid-December and by the time the cars were processed a lot of people were on vacation. I'm hopeful that the first 7 days of Dec have better availability.

Nice. Went by dealership today and the manager felt good about 12/5 being the day. Regardless, our wait is almost over.

Did the dealer say when he thought the car might arrive at his dealership?
