Default yellow?

I know the exterior color thing has been discussed a lot. The horse is dead, buried, exhumed, buried again...
But...When I wanted to order the GT3 in yellow the salesman said. "Are you sure? The dealership owner won't even let me order a yellow car without a non-refundable deposit."
The yellow makes me smile...Anyone hear this kind of thing about yellow cars from a dealer before? I didn't think it would be the most popular for resale, but this did make me think twice.

Yellow looks incredible on the GT3. I'm surprised it's not more popular considering PTS has been closed and a lot of brighter colors are not available. If you are committed to the purchase, the non-refundable deposit should mean nothing. You have to take what dealers say with a grain of salt most of the time.

Just talked to a good friend who is the GM of a large porsche dealership. He also determines what they pay for trade ins etc. He said that yellow is harder to sell for them. But conversely there are less yellow cars made so if you find the person looking for yellow the sale will be easy. I say just buy what your heart tells you . These high end sports cars are emotion decisions and are adult toys.

I bought my 993 at a discount because it was yellow. The irony is that 14 years on i probably sold it at a premium because it was yellow. Perception changes with time.

Most of us have "boring / safe" colors like white, silver, black, and GR. You'll always hear people cheering for a risk-taker w/ some originality following their jelly bean dream and getting one of these beauties in something controversial or without universal acceptance. But those of us w/ the safe colors always have a little bit of extra admiration for those with the rarer hues no matter what.

Go for it!

Agree with this sentiment, unless it's lime gold.

Also-- there's no such thing as a "non-refundable" deposit in california. that's from personal experience, and California law.

Exactly. I remember red 996-3's were not very popular. Now look how popular the color is on 991.

That's all I need to know. Changing the build to yellow. I'll post pics in feb. when delivered. That's if this doesn't delay the build. Can't wait to drive the snot out of this car.

Yellow will be awesome. I was going to get yellow as well, however, i wanted full yellow stitching which isnt available on the GT3. I also didn't want PCCBs.

Wasn't that sold on yellow when I bought my car (during the GFC), but it has grown heavily on me. I reckon yellow really sets off the black highlights and visually lightens the design, especially the nose - bad for a limo, great for a sports car.

The first time I took her to a Porsche track meet and she stood out from the sea of others, it was a bit of a buzz too, and I still stop to check her out, even four years on.

My issue for me, a committed yellow Porsche guy was the change from "speed" to "racing". Guess what, it's better in it's own sort of way. I have never had more compliments and cell phone pictures it's nuts! I'm sure all GT3's get that to a point but it seems to make the car more exciting and exotic. Go for it!

Changed my order from GR to RW two weeks ago.

Salesman was not enthusiastic but screw it.

I've only seen 5 GT3's two were red two were white and one was agate.

I agree yellow with the black accents (wheels, headlamps, splitter, grill) will make it pop
