V170
A friend went from V200 to V170 today, reads; PAG handling necessary. Anyone heard of this? He was supposed to go order lock down V220 within 7 days or so.

My order was supposed to lock 10/10 and is still in v210 status.
I placed the order over a month ago, then changed/added a couple of options LED's, etc on 10/12 + the order accepted those changes.
I am wondering if that put me in the back of the line of going to v250 status? Dealer doesn't know why it hasn't locked yet either.

V170 usually means there's something special about the order, can be anything from stitching, personalized door sill guards, PTS, etc. Normal. It will go back to whatever status it's supposed to be once PAG looks at it and "handles" it.
Porsche works on a "just-in-time" system - so sometimes your order locks a little earlier or a little later. Depends on the various suppliers, vendors and how fast they can coordinate all the parts.
Status V210 - 50/50 you can change the options, sometimes PAG takes it, sometimes not. V220 and beyond, you are 100% locked in.

My order is supposed to lock today. I made some last minute changes yesterday and got this today from the dealer:
V180 - PAG Text handling required
Anyone know what that means?
Vivian.

Gotta check with your salesperson for status.
Status V180 is similar to V170. It's a special option that triggers it. For example - and this is just an example, if you have special stitching you want, the dealer needs to manually input the color, say "Ithaca Verde" stitching. PAG needs to manually handle that and determine whether it can be done. Or you have personalized door sills - dealer needs to input what you want to inscribe manually and PAG needs to handle that text request.

Yes - can be a variety of reasons which we don't understand. Sometimes PAG cannot be figured out. But the JIT inventory system is one of the factors.

And, I'm sure that the whole process now, build-to-delivery, will be pushed back. Not much I can do about it now...

These are production issues. Std stuff is much easier to produce than one off requests. PAG may accommodate or not requests. If they do many times, if not most, they are dependent on outside suppliers coming through. Thus you may see delays in production. This just happened a few months ago where all GT3s with LWBs were pushed back due to supplier issues.
Make sure u stay on top of your SA and request periodic updates. Lots of fun and sometimes frustration.
