Default F430 trading on GT3 w/new engine

So,

I'm on the list for the GT3 RS, which dealers just got info on formally, but looks like delivery is about 9-12 months out.

I have an 08 F430 spider with very low miles, but am fed up with Ferrari customer service here in TX. I'm thinking about trading it for one of the replaced engine auction GT3's with 571 miles on it.

Question, do you think they'll hold value or possibly increase in the 9 months till the RS arrives?

If the auction car has a "Lemon" title then No, I don't think it will hold it's value as good as those with clear titles 8 to 9 months from now. If you plan on trading in 8 or 9 months, buy a new 2015. They are still available at some dealers for MSRP.

The GT3 market will probably be soft when the RS arrives as people trade up. A lot of potential RS customers have a GT3 in hand or on order.

Nah, there aren't going to be that many RS's. I suspect there will be enough used GT3's around that it will cost you something.

I hope you're right - I ordered my GT3 expecting a $20k to $30k hit for 9 to 12 months of ownership until my RS (should hopefully) arrive. Would be a pleasant surprise to the upside...

So you're selling because of the customer service?....or you want a GT3?....I would order a new 15 at MSRP but regardless I wouldn't buy in the hopes of it appreciating.....buy it to enjoy it....and I asked my dealer about an RS and he chuckled.....I think cars will go to their best customers and this is my first P-car....It seems most ordered a GT3 in the meantime.....just my guess

you asked to spend 200k and were laughed at? Wow, real professional response to a client. Car dealers live in some other world I guess.

What other "info given to the dealers"?
"formerly", as in written, or at a meeting?
thx

I have purchased many Porsches and won't get an allocation. Unless you are going to track it I don't see the point in an RS anyway. My '11 GT3RS was a pure toy.

His dealer mat not get even 1 RS.

The US customers should unite and shun such snobbish European brands and buy American only for a while. Trust me , this will bring about a change. I am totally appalled at the rubbish treatment US customers receive when seeking to order new high end cars. In most parts of the world you can order any ferrari any time you want regardless of prior purchase history. And lambo, they beg for your business. Ferrari increasing production to 10,000 will mostly help US customers and good thing for them but not really needed in ROW.
Huracan other than in a straight line (and sound) is a piece of crap compared to its competitors. Just wait for its next 10 variations to improve upon that.

What kind of "formal" news did the dealers get on the new RS?

No RS allocation as of yesterday based on my discussion with my dealer. Maybe somebody had a good dream last night.

None.......dealers were just informed at meeting recently that RS production is confirmed, but no world changing info at all.

My dealer told me at their recent dealer meeting they were formally told about the 911 GT3 RS, base of 175K, 500 hp, 500 units to be made. 300 of them are earmarked for 918 owners, the other 200 to top customers.

I currently own 3 Porsches, (997.2 turbo S cab, 14 cayenne S hybrid, 13 boxster S), and dealer told me I will be one of the two hundred.

spent time at the dealer yesterday, and have opted out of the GT3. The salvage title just scares me. I think my dealer would take care of me when the RS comes in, but I think I can private sale the 430 for more even 9 months from now as it's one of the lowest mileage 430's around (i bought it 18 months ago with 1200 miles on it).

I need a track car that's not a convertible.
