are front end license plates still a must? if so can we get the really small plates from RTA or do we have to get the standard sizes?

I currently have a C4S and the front plate gives me a heartache every time I notice it.
I would like to find a decent solution to my GT3 when it arrives . any ideas?

Yes you can apply for a small front plate if you are going for dubai registration. I have seen a turbo s with small front plate.

In dubai, you can have your plate printer as sticker too. which Abudhabi dont have or allow. yet they allow small plates for front only.

If your registering you vehicle in Dubai, Dubai police allow the use of printer sticker that looks like a plate number but it a illuminated sticker, its small and stick to any where on the front.

Yet this only apply to Dubai police. abudhabi and other emirates does not allow of it.

You can get a small sized front plate in Dubai but it requires approval. I've seen gt3 owners with it including Arth. Not sure how many hoops one needs to jump for that. I have the small plate on my 458 but had to lean on Al Tayer to get it done for me. I am told Naboodah won't do it, so you'll have to get the approval yourself most probably.

Yes you can get a small license plate here in Dubai. Al Nabooda will not do it for you. But basically your car has to be deemed " worth it" at the RTA.

Basically once the car is registered and you have the big number plate you have to take the plates of the car( as well as your actual car)and drive down to the Main Police station/RTA headoffice in Deira ( very hard to explain how to get there so just Google it).

Also take with you several pictures of you car printed out in color. They require these for their records.

Everything is done there.

you can apply for the new small plate and the customer service agent will ask for pictures of your car and he might ask to go view your car outside.

he then will process it and you pay around 300 AED for the new plate.

you get a paper and they send you to the building next door where they make the plates.

you hand over the paper to the responsible there and they make you wait for around 15 minuets while they make it.

then your done.

whole thing take around an hour depending on how early you go.

things you will need:

your car
your old license plates
pictures of your car printed out in color
registration card
driving license
around 500 AED ( ive forgetten if there any additional charges)
