Will there be a MY2016 GT3?
Now that the MY2015 are scheduled to be completed end of December will there be a MY2016 GT3 or will they skip a year end and substitute it with RS?
Sorry for silly question!

No one knows for sure, but it looks unlikely.
My best guess would be:
MY16 GT3 RS
MY 17 - Change to 992 and 3.4L TT in Carrera S, no idea what the base Carrera will get changed to
MY 18 - GT3 probably gone and GT2/GT2 RS the new enthusiast options, GT4 probably the hybrid line...

This is why I am so concerned....my dealership and I wanted to time delivery of my GT3 to be spring of 15 but now it looks like that won't happen. I was told that I had a car reserved for me.

Re: MY2016 991 gt3. Nobody knows...not even PCNA, much less the US dealer network! In the previous 997 model, there was no MY2009 gt3 (which was the lift-face year for the .2 997, similar to what MY2016 will be for the 991). So if there is no MY2016 991 gt3 that historically might not portend anything negative long term! Except that there are other forces at work here this time around re: the gt3. Tougher Cycle 6 Euro Emissions regulations and perhaps stricter US engine rules that we don't yet know about could apply to the current gt3 991 N/A engine and limit it's longevity in the line-up! The fact that current gt3 production seems to be ending in fiscal year end 2014 this December is not a good omen! Most US NHTSA & CAFE regulations start each new year on Jan 1st! The Euro 6 emissions went into effect in September (last month) but we really don't yet know if Porsche got some exception for the gt3 and the RS due to the limited numbers in production. So frankly, we really don't know yet even if there will be a post-MY2015 N/A gt3...period!
By the way, Porsche has the capacity to do simultaneously the 991 gt3 and the 991 gt3 RS at Zuffenhausen IF IT WANTS TO. So the story of having to stop the gt3 so that they can build the RS is a red herring! Don't buy into it. There are other reasons...which they have not yet disclosed! Certainly, it's not because low demand for that gt3 (non-RS) model here in the US of A although I would like to get a better handle on demand in Europe for their allocated MY2015 gt3's! Macca, do you know from your sources?
