2015 GT3 or 2014 Turbo S
I have a nov build allocation jan delivery gt3 - baby arriving jan and trying to decide if I pass on this opportunity will I forever regret it.
If I wait, the option is picking up turbo s in mid 2015 used (2014 car)
Everyone is raving about the gt3 and limited 2015 run.
Do I stretch things thin and get gt3 or play it safer and spend same money next summer?
Help

Realistically the GT3 will probably hold value better if you plan on holding it a few years. Lower production numbers and it's very possible Porsche does away with naturally aspirated motors completely at some point in the near future.
Personally if money is an issue I would buy a 2009 Turbo or a 997 GT3 now.

I think I would rather regret some thing I did than regret some thing I did not do and 12 months later be hitting myself.
Now, I have had a Turbo and it is a great car. But you need to decide if you want a "raw" type of experience with a big *** wing and NA or do you want some thing more refined, all wheel drive, and FI
That - is a decision you must make

the gt3 looks better (imo. newer) and sounds better. waaay better. and, its cheaper.
only thing turbo s has for it is its the fastest in a straight line, but how often will you be able to exploit the difference in acceleration between the two?
you will be able to relish the sound every time you put your foot down. and its really something special.
i really dont think ill ever tire of the sound this car makes really.

I am going thru the same pain but it really depends on where you live and how you want to drive the car. I have a young daughter that beats me in Xbox One Forza so she wants to experience the new car too. I think Turbo is a straight line acceleration one show pony (like others said) but it's more practical for me. A GT3 is fun but it will be fun with myself, alone.

Here is my thought process on getting an allocation for a GT3 FWIW. I was considering between getting a 997.2 turbo s and 2015 GT3.
Was able to test drive the turbo s but couldn't get my hands on a 991 GT3 to test out (decided to get an allocation anyway in case the opportunity passes...though it seems like porsche is still releasing allocations). While there are various personal preference reasons on why I chose a GT3, I took a step back and looked at it from an economic perspective. Depreciation rates on the turbo s was multiples of 997.2 GT3s (and even 997.1 for that matter). I saw a 2012 turbo s at about the same price as a 2010 GT3 at the same dealer, despite the GT3 being older and having much lower original MSRP. GT3 depreciation rates might be skewed by the fact that those were the last manuals, but they're still lower production cars whereas dealerships are full of turbos and turbo s's. If this is somehow one of the last NA GT3s available, even better.
My plan is to hold onto the 991 GT3 for a few years and trade in or sell to purchase a 991 turbo (after the next full generation comes out). Hoping I would just have to put in a few thousand more to do the trade...and figure a turbo would be more suitable in my later years (more comfortable, quiet ride).
Just my thoughts on the topic - I have not owned either car so far and this is solely based on my observations over the past few months.

2015 GT3
Pros: looks, driving experience, brand new (a dream), spec'd out, sounds, 9K redline, resale (2K/year mileage is my average)
Cons: Not as practical (kids in the back), acceleration ??, pony up the cash now
2014 Turbo S
Pros: Acceleration, creature comforts, acceleration , all the toys included
Cons: Not as sexy, doesn't look as good, doesn't sound as good
It all comes to the 10:30 AM Sunday drive to the gym and errand. What is going to get my juices going. I don't know?? Saw a Turbo S with 21" HRE's and it was really nice and obviously the GT3 pics are amazing. Have not seen this car in person
Still confused and 10% deposit due in 1 week.

Do not under-estimate the acceleration of the 991 GT3. It gets you to 120mph pretty darn quick but just in a different package as the Turbo. Less of a horse kick like when the turbo kicks in but some thing smooth and silky with a loud roar
