The dates on the schedule for the ports are arrival dates. So it tells you when the ship arrives in Emden, brunswick, whatever.

I think the dealer's departure date was off by a day - Virgo Leader left Emden on 9/25 @ 9:21am for San Diego according to VW Logistics and confirmed by marinetraffic.com. ETA in San Diego on 10/22.
If that schedule holds up, it will arrive a little more than 2 weeks earlier than original Porsche schedule.
Pretty cool to see the real-time GPS tracking of the vessel while it's fairly close to shore - it should exit the English Channel by tomorrow night.
Happy for you Bruno! I'm hoping to leave on Onyx 10/7. If I figure correctly it arrives 10/17 in Rhode island. Then I hope it doesn't take 3 weeks to get to dealer. That seems to be the big question. But first I want to be V332.

I'm not sure I can handle three weeks in port. Especially given it's just 300 miles away. Dealer says usually 5-7 days from arrival to inventory and I am hoping he's right!

I hope so as well. The issue is GT3s are not delivered with the other cars. They come on a transport with a lift. So they usually need to wait a little longer than the other cars. My dealer had two truckloads come in with cars from the same boat 10 days prior to mine arriving.

There are two boats arriving from Emden on the same day. My hope is that there are enough gt3s to fill the truck. Next boat doesn't arrive till 10/15. That would be bad! I'm exhausted! :-)

Thanks Rob, you will likely get your car before I do!

I just spent $3 to find out that the Florida highway is past the Bermuda Triangle, < 300 miles from port and moving at a brisk 19.4481726716 Mph. So close!

As I understand it, the ship has to be < 50 miles or so from shore for terrestrial tracking to come online again.

I'm going to have to have you show me how you did that! As soon as I leave port I will want to track mine too!

Absolutely... getting so close. I hope it doesn't sit in port too long! Although if we get together, I may get "Mexico Blue Envy" :-)

I'm disappointed I stumbled upon the way to do that long after she left the English Channel, although I suspect it saved me quite a bit.

I'm going to put a post together as the "ad-hoc" satellite tracking for $3 a pop seems to be published nowhere!

SG, your $3 find is going cost some of a pretty penny once ours set sail
Porsche really should do some deal with a ship tracking service and offer it to customers.

Good idea to create a thread and post info about tracking services.
Thanks.
