Passport 9500ci with Laser Shifters?

For the rear, as mentioned above, I don't think its worth the looks of the car to install one there, plus 90-95% of the time, the police shoot the front. Also, having one visible in the rear, is too obviously if get pull over.

Just had my Bel STiR+ and AL Priority installed. I decided to put the Bel display module in the Mirror and the control module in the ashtray. I purchased the control module plate from Mobile Solutions in Tempe, AZ. It wasn’t cheap but looks great. I had Sound Innovations in Union City do the install and they did a great job. They cut the front grill to mount the ALP sensors and you wouldn’t even notice they are there unless you look carefully. I know there is some debate whether the rear sensors are required and this was the first rear they had done. I decided to go with them anyway just to be safe. We decided to use the front factory License plate bracket at the rear so we had a firm mounting place for the ALP Sensors. It took a little trimming to get it right and may still have to play around with it a bit as I’m not sure my license plate lights fully illuminate the plate.
I did not mount the ALP Control Set as I really don’t like the look, it’s a pain to use and there was really nowhere great to place it. I installed the Bluetooth module and use the ALP App on my IPhone and it works great. I decided to install a switch in the Mobile Solutions plate so I can shut the entire ALP system down if I get pulled over.
Very happy with the entire package and install. Pics of the install …

I'm considering using the ALP with the STiR+ antenna (no STiR+ brain).

You would be better off not trim the mesh, to make sure the unit is not too recessed which can effect the performance of the unit. My installer used the mesh as the backing for the sensor. They also sandwiched couple of tiny shims between the back of th sensor & the mesh to Make sure the sensors are perfectly level. Said that the ALP mounting points may be different than mine and trimming the mesh may be necessary, but just make sure the face of the sensor is protruding slightly outside the bumper for best performance. With ALP or suspect any laser unit, I highly recommend buying Laser Jammer Tester after you completed installation. Its about 35.00 and can be found on Amazon, and other sites.
I have ALP and it seems an excellent product and would do it again. But it is not plug and go, like 9500i or 360i. My concern was downloading ALL the various ALP firmware properly to a USB drive. I thought it was a no brainer, as I am tech savvy.
The challenge is the firmware that is available on the alp site. The defaults on the website need to be change for your specific country system/usage . ALP is an European system, and the instructions translated into English are not the clearest. Like do you want fogs lights/forced parking. Then need to download about 3 more firmware files,; including Hi-Fi, updates, and latest 5.1.1 firmware. After doing all this, you really don't know, how well you're protected with the various guns and/or is set is properly done. We messed up twice, as I downloaded the same file (voicepak.alp) twice and used the second file voicepak.alp(2). Thinking voicepak.alp(2) was ok to use. My very experienced excellent installer wasn't too familiar with al the ALP firmware, and it took us hours to figure it out. There is a forum for ALP, and youtube videos, but it can be overwhelming, and some of the information, at least, for us, was contradictory, and one video was flat out wrong.
