As long as it's that smartphone app issue, I'm fine. It's easy for a software engineer to update this app so that it could connect to a go pro.

I think that it only works if you are at a racetrack. The GPS knows your location.

I was poking around at the app and I thought I saw a way to add new tracks. I'll have to look at it some more.

It works anywhere but will only give up a live video preview as it records if you are on a track.

Will it give you a video later if you are not on a track?

It'll be on mine, but was included in the options bundle for Switzerland, so didn't spec it as such. Sucks if you can only activate it on track - would be nice to familiarise myself with it in my own time rather than having to figure it out while at a trackday..

I believe there are some features that work on the street. Details on the Porsche site are a bit vague. Maybe g meter works ?

Just tried messing with it.. It appears the app only works at the track... It asks you to select a nearby track.. Wont let you do anything else.... FYI to connect to the app select the WIFI from the car which will be something like "My_Porsche_........." Then type in GTx (case sensitive) then your VIN # ie GTxWP0..............

You can definitely add tracks, so I guess if you have a specific road you like, you should be able to add it. I used the map mode but youre supposed to be able to do it by car too.

So nothing...no g meter ? Basically when you turn the app on you get that dialog screen and unless you are on a recognized track, no mas ?

You should be able to map your own track, whether a road route, ect. Probably a liability issue though.

Yea I get you can map your own track... In theory that should work but I'm a little confused why one would do that? So attempt to track your GT3 and beat your times on the streets with the unforeseen circumstances of passive/ignorant drivers... No thank you....

On the other hand I guess if you just wanted to shoot come video of your drive with speed etc that might make sense...

I linked up and on the vid preview it shows, rpm, speed, g-force but no movement at least at low speed like 3-4mph... I guess someone is just going to have to get to a track and test it out....
