IMO, the full leather makes the car look more upscale and since I see the inside of the car all the time I wanted it to feel special. Just makes the car look expensive...which it is! Mine is $162K total.
Our cars are twins!

No idea...dealer says it looks good...what's another few hundred especially when doing steering column and dash. The configuration does not show just like you can't see the steering column in leather.

I don't mind making my Teutonic car a bit more Italian in the looks department.
I took the same approach - even at $165k for my build it strikes me as a relative bargain. I also want to enjoy being in it, so the extra money on fluff is more than worth it for me.

My RS will be spec'd minimally...

well I sold my .2 gt3 and its three months until the 991gt3 gets here...so...just saying, with tempting 3.8 RS cars out there...you never know

if I was betting red or black though, I think I will make it through the wait and take delivery

Is Porsche the only luxury car manufacturer who still has a seam around the dashboard airbag when covered in leather?

Alex IMHO save your hard earned in the wart. The track app is a gimmick. You'd be far better off investing that money in an AIM solo FL and smarty cam which you can move from car to car and will serve you many years if you are a track junkie....

Track app may be a gimmick, but it's a cool one. I'll have it and the AIM Solo DL I currently have.

Default Extended Leather Dash - Platinum pics

If anyone is interested, I just took delivery on my 15 with the leather dash with platinum stitching. When I ordered it, I thought it may be too over the top for a GT3, but it is very subtle and really finishes off the cockpit nicely if someone is considering it. These are pretty bad photos from my iPhone at night in the garage.

The most entertaining threads for me have always been the ones with detailed pictures of pretty parts

Eduardo, it was one of your posts that convinced me to go with the leather dash. It pushed my order back a couple weeks, but it was worth it. Many thanks.

Tom

PS: I probably went a little overboard with the leather seat backs, steering column and center console, but it all works well in this car. I'd take a GT3 as a stripper or fully loaded. It's just an all round awesome vehicle. Steering column and center console in below pic. Please, no making fun of my self-mounted V1 concealed console unit. I like expensive cars, but I'm cheap when it comes to the add-ons.
