Maybe because the Stop Sale. They film this stuff in May/June or something like that.

Looks to be a TTS, F-type R, Z/28, Nismo, Alfa, M4, i8, STi, Focus ST (again?), and a couple other cars that didn't get any preview screen time.

That is probably be case. Cayman GTS wasn't available during that time either.

I wonder if they will add the cars to the competition next year, or will the 991 GT3 be too 'old' by then...

That is an interesting question given that it was a new model this year. Maybe due to the comparo done earlier with the F12? Maybe because they didn't want to enter the contest with a known bias since it's won every domestic COTY award and Motortrend itself considers it the best thing since sliced bread?

Timing is often an issue when a car becomes available shortly after the filming and whether it's considered too old the next year. Perhaps a matchup of the RS vs Z06? It'll be interesting to hear what they say in the aftermath episode on why certain cars weren't included. I imagine that the GT3 was definitely omitted due to the stop sale.

It lost out in that comparo, so I'm not sure why it would win this time.

In any case, the field looks sad compared to R&T's PCOTY. They've got the GT3 and the Speciale. The problem with that though is that the results are already obvious - Speciale wins ahead of the GT3 by a hair. The rest of the field doesn't matter unless they bring in a value for money argument.

I take that back. Given that the BDC winner should be the Speciale or the GT3, I'd still be interested in the M4 vs i8 vs 4C vs F-Type battle. Like watching the fight for the 3rd/4th/5th position in a race.

The C7 is in the magazine article; apparently it didn't make the vid. It did a 2:53.8.....slower than the Camaro and TT and a few others. Wish they'd tested a GT3...suspect it would have been very competitive; perhaps quicker than everything in this field except the 918.
