With only 3 released in-car lap vids and only 1 instance of Randy saying anything during the lap (TTS lap), it definitely looked like the TTS was very engaging with how often Randy had to work the wheel.

No serious surprise with the outcome. They loved the throwback nature combined with the modern electronics of the Z/28. A similar acknowledgement went towards the Alfa with its simplicity. I'm sure GM is glad they didn't make a Vette available (coincidence?) so there wouldn't be any marketing issues going forward. But, we may see a back-to-back award winner (ala Porsche) with the Z06 next year.

For those that aren't interested in watching the whole hour long video, skip to around 33 min for the TTS (and nod to the GT3) and then to the last 5 min (for 918 and super fast lap lovers)!

Here's the lap results!

918 1:30.97
GT-R Nismo 1:35.5
Turbo S 1:35.62
Camaro Z28 1:37.82
BMW M4 1:39.69
Jag F-type 1:42.01
Alfa 4C 1:43.78
BMW i8 1:44:29
WRX STI 1:47.16
GTI 1:50.11
Ford Fiesta 1:51.25

I think the surprise really was the 4C , I thought it's a Cayman competitor, but it really looks like a great drivers car, while Z/28 probably the best bargain of the bunch!

Wow, surprising performance from M4. From this list looks like M4 could beat Z28 given the same tires Trofeo Rs should be worth more than 2 seconds compared to PSS that M4 has. Also, a bit of a disappointment for the STI, given all the suspension improvements.

Agree about the tires. That's one thing they tend to brush over when comparing lap times. There's something to be said about the benefit of 305 semi-slicks on each corner of a 3800+ lb vehicle. And who knows, if Nissan would've ever listened to every track owner over the past few years and added CCBs to its 150k(!) version, perhaps Randy could've knocked another second or so off.

As for the STi, Randy said he had a hard time dialing in the suspension given how much adjustability it has so a better time could've been possible.
