Red viper has arrived
My car is finally in my hands. It was torture to wait 3 extra days for the entire front end to be wrapped in Xpel, the windshield in Clearplex, and the windows tinted.
I've had her for 3 days and already put 500 miles on the car. So my break-in is over, starting tomorrow. However, the only thing I did on the break in was let it warm up, vary my speed and revs, and not exceed 7000. You can still do a lot with the car under 7000.
Impressions so far:
1-shifting gears is pure lightening. Shifts just as fast as a 458. Light-years ahead of regular PDK. Very happy with transmission. They need a new name for it. Whatever is German for lightspeed.
2-incredible agility. Turn in is so quick and natural. It feels more like a Cayman/Boxster than a 911 on tight corners.
3-great stability. Harder to get the back end to break loose than I expected. So composed on transitions. Very stable at speed, 130 mph feels like 80.
4-jimmy D said it, Porsche just nailed it with the exterior of the car. It looks so much better than an a 996, 997 GT3 or RS, I've never been one for spoilers on a car, but the wing and everything else just works on the 991 GT3.
5- The car looks great in guards red. If I had a PTS slot, I would have gone for carmine red, but I'm very happy with the look of GR. Also glad I went with red stitching and full leather. Only interior regret is not getting the extended dash in leather. It would've looked so good! But overall quite happy with interior.
6-The engine just asked to be revved, I'm not worried about it at all for 100,000 miles.
7-ride is a bit harsher than I expected. Everyone has said this is the car you can daily drive. Daily drive sure, however I'm a little less confident about long road trips now. It could just be our crap highways in the northeast.
8-I feel less secure driving in traffic with the wing blocking my rear view. I also don't feel I can spot cops coming up from the rear, which has saved me in the past from tickets. None in 10 years! I know I'm jinxing myself.......
9- I'm not sure if my PSE is working. I can barely tell a difference with the button on or off, and that at 7,000 RPM.
Anyone else have a problem with their PSE? How big a difference do you guys notice when you turn on PSE??(over 4000 RPM)
Pics to follow in a minute.

Awesome! Love the black headlights and tinted glass with the red. You guys with the Guards Red are starting to get to me. My build locks next week and I am waffling....

Great stuff Drifting. Good to have you in the camp finally.
The PSE in my opinion is not cut and dry - in that it cuts in when the button is on at different places on the rev band dependant on engine temp, load, throttle position etc. I believe its part of teh ECU programming and was done for noise emissions in Europe. Mine seems in consistent. Try turning it on at constant speed around 4000 rpm+ with partial throttle and you should hear the sound deepen - if not worth having checked out as may be a sticky valve. Im sure it was more consistent with the old engine so I suspect it has something to do with the new software but I will try it unplugged soon and see if I prefer that...
