Default my impressions of the GT3 after a week......

......of 9k rpm shifts

first the IPE full exhaust was installed and it transformed the GT3 to a full blown Cup car, will go into the details of this makeover in other posts.

spend the first few days driving around town and on express ways, not much curves.
In a word, very disappointing. Not much sensation of speed besides the nice exhaust sound. No pressed in the back acceleratopn, no nothing, and it actually feels quite soft doing everyday stuff. Not the GT3 everyone is raving about. Didnt bother to drive much after that.

One day, we went up the moutain with the gang, i was unfortunate to take the GT3's keys, so i led the avenator, 458s, new huracan, normal 991s.... up a very technical full of hairpins route.
Dont wanna go into details, but a car 1/3 the price of others killed. Its like a softer 458 but with amazing traction in all types of turns, the tighter the better, and as enjoyable as my 458. brakes are fantastic too. enough said.

after the track like drive, this is where im shocked, u leave it in auto and normal modes and its like a lexus very comfortable and quiet. perfect commute car if u have to.

one thing though, no nose riser on this and its much lower than the 458, huracan, and even the aventador, so basically u have to order the lift system. Also no clubsport option on this, the normal seats are sit very low and supports perfect, no need for any upgraded seats.

this 991 GT3 is by far the best sports car for anything even 3 times the price. period.

just dont do straight runs, its boring.

Johns930, thanks for your input. Are you affiliated with IPE or Innotech? Just curious.

Nice review. I will be comparing mine to my 991 Turbo. I also own a 458. If it's boring I am not going to have it long.

Straight runs in ANY car are boring. That is why you buy a SPORT CAR!

The exhaust as I wrote in my review is not in your face like some of the other cars you mentioned. But when you get on it, the GT3 screams not like a ricer but like an appropriate high performance sport car. Ever hear a CGT at low rev's then at high rev's? At low very tame but when it cuts loose there is no better exhaust sound on the planet because what you hear is the engine along with the exhaust. That is the GT3.

FWIW, with many of the cars you mention what you hear is the exhaust tuned to sound aggressive.

I was wondering about any affiliation with IPE as well. Post needs a disclaimer.

Johns930,

Great info! I live in Socal as well. Any chance I can meet up with you to hear your exhaust?

i grew up in Detroit, so straights and hi way blasting is a must. the gt3 simply aint exciting going straight, even with an exhaust, it doesnt have the push of my scud, 458, aventador... simply because its too smooth, the shifts and everything about going straight is no fuss no drama hence no fun.
but when multiple turns come up, this thing is amazing.
