Got it makes sense thanks.

Yeah, that was one of my first impressions on just picking up the box, how light it felt. But without a comparison, I had no reference. I think Macca posted photos of both on a scale showing the difference in weight. This was my expectation from what I'd heard from others too, and a material reason for buying this.

All I am going to say is the SW Bypass is a must have for your GT3. It makes the car sound like a freakin race car and it scares the heck out of people over 6000 rpms when you pass them. I would not want it any louder and could not live w/o it

Finally installed
Hi guys,
First of all you are all great. I am carefully reading this 991 GT3 forum since a few weeks from Berlin, Germany. Great to see other folks sharing the same passion for that wonderful car. I also agree with you guys that Alex from sharkwerks is very great and responsive (and in my special case he is a very patient person).
After a very quick shipment in only a few days to Germany I finally got my bypass installed today. Done in less than one hour by a friend.
I also did the valve modification some days before, so now I have to maximum loudness.
In one sentence: very loud and aggressive, you can easily scare people hundred meters away for you :-)
But there are two things I guess I lost in sound quality. first: that aggressive "babble" while shifting down is not that good hearable anymore and there was also something like a bang while up shifting before.
So now I am a bit confused, are those wonderful noises still there and I am only not able to hear them because of the overall increase of volume or was the stock silencer responsible for that?
Anyone else with the same experiences?
Thanks, Maik

Propman - I never had the opportunity to drive it w/o the SW Bypass because I had it installed before I picked it up at Dealer. But I get a babble while downshifting but not all the time and I get a nice bang on all upshifts in the higher rev range. May be it is not as pronounced for you because it is louder now so you have the before and after comparo that I do not. I wonder if the valve modification would have any thing to do with that but that would be a reach on my part and some others' here are more car savvy than me by far

Hi Maik,
Glad you have the pipe installed. I would try reverting the valves so they operate like normal (this is how we always run the exhaust on our own car) and see how you like it.
