I am happy to see this Z06 getting so much attention. It will push others to compete and we will all ( consumers) benefit. Porsche needs to take notice not to price themselves out of the market but they always have suckers like me.

I was wondering about the same thing! A C6 Z06 is faster than 991 GT3 by a good margin.

The Z06 of past, and present has many problems, but being fast isn't one of them.

I have seen & sat in the new Stingray, but not driven it yet. In my opinion it was very...American. Not exactly classy or jewel-like and looking like it was honed from a solid piece of billet, like a 911, 650S, R8 or many other great European cars. It looks 'aggressivley American' in a sense of it being styled to a price point and a bit over the top. Arrogant & American. Like the Camaro, perfect for America and the Nascar crowd. Perfect for the market and price point it belongs in.

Its not meant to be competitive with the Europeans on anything other than performance numbers IMHO.

As for their dealer network, I agree with many others here. Can't get myself to deal with any 'American' dealerships, period. Had a friend of a friend state that he talked to 9 ( Nine! ) Chysler dealers in the last week in regards to the new Challenger Hellcat. They all wanted $5K - $25K over list on the $60K Hellcat. ZO6 will suffer the same fate.

Maybe he's saying that because it's not accurate to say the C6 Z06 will beat the 991 GT3, or it's at least questionable. For example, here are tests of the 2014 991 GT3 and 2012 Corvette C06 Z06, both from Car and Driver. Strictly by the performance numbers, the GT3 is faster than the Z06 in almost every speed measurement, and it stops shorter and generates significantly higher skid pad numbers as well. Since it's fairly certain that you haven't yet seen a 991 GT3 and C6 Z06 go head to head with equal drivers, just where does your belief that the Z06 is faster come from?

It may turn out that at a given track a C6 Z06 will have the advantage, but in general and strictly by the published numbers, it seems it's slower than the 991 GT3.
