Official Date for Engine delivery and car back on the roads
Well here goes!
i just got confirmation form my dealer on engine production, shipping and when the car will back with me.
these dates as specified by the dealer are "worst case scenario", so the car could actually be back with me on the road earlier.
Engine production week 21 ( 18th- 25th of May) - confirmed, but production would most probable take less than a week
Engine delivery/shipping 1 week after production finishes - shipping could take less
Engine delivery to service centre and fitment/testing 4 to 5 days. - could take 2 to 3 days
Worst case delivery date: 8th of June
Best case delivery: 2nd of June
I am the 4th car in the UAE to get his engine replaced.
out of the three cars before me, two are buybacks for the dealer ( will go into their inventory) and one is for the one person that beat me to the deposit down in March 2013.
All compensation (payments and warranties/documents) will be signed and handed over before the delivery date.

Here's number 2 from the UAE.
My VIN (0119) is 2 digits higher than Arth, yet my timeline is two weeks later. Whether that has to do with my slightly delayed delivery (because they screwed up the PDI planning) or not, who knows.
The timeline I was given:
- engine production: week 23
- engine shipping: week 24
- engine fixing: week 25 (w/c 16 June)
If this holds true, my compensation is as follows:
- Panamera S loaner since stop-drive
- 12,000 USD compensation for ~120 days (24 February to 24 June), or ~100 USD per day
- 2 years additional warranty (which they still need to give to Arth too, we're working on that)

Interesting - I thought they started making engines the week of 4/21. But you are being told they are being built a month later and you both were some of the earlier ones. Then with my car at the port and it was to deliver 3/14 I am probably looking later July/Aug??

What it will mean is we bought a brand new $150,000 car a year earlier which now will be delivered several months late in a repaired and not new condition. Do they really believe $2000 a month is adequate?????

If it will be late July/Aug I will probably walk. I will lose nothing and since summer almost gone I have no need for the car. I will just wait for either a great deal in Dec. on a slightly used car(not a Porsche) and store it or wait for some thing else that interests me the following Spring. I think waiting to get compensation and then sell will be a bigger loss than just walking

Allan mine was stopped at the factory it was due to exit production. 3-14. I figured 2 months ago it would be Sept, Oct. a one year old 150k car with a story. I bowed out a month ago. Porsche is doing this when they get around to it. The car is still at the factory has to wait for an engine then be shipped. Hope they have stabil in the gas of all these cars that are just sitting. The 911 is not a priority anymore. I think I read 17 percent of sales.
