And voilà... here is Monza Saturday. The event was organised by Porsche Switzerland and Italy with all GT3 owner, about 50 cars. As always flawless organization and lots of free time. Here is the last session of the day and my best time at the end and also the best of all 50 cars...we had laptimer installed...
I still had the Trofeo R and are still ok, amazing the way the keep. Actually, I did speak with one of the official Porsche instructor, I will not named him, but he said the following. The Michelin are faster in performance at the beginning but after few laps their performance goes down faster. For the Pirelli, they take longer to perform but more consistent and progressive. He prefers the Pirelli. After 4 tracks, I will need to change my front rotor and also the pads. Otherwise all good, no issues at all.

Again amazing car and enjoy.

Also thanks to Martin, he had also installed an AIM Smarty Cam and you can see me at 2mn21

Phil. Again brilliant driving and wondeful commentary from the day.

46 x 991 GT3 at the track. man that must be the largest gathering ever to date anywhere! I think the oil and petrol companies did well that day!

Interestingly I see a few sliver cars and alot of red cars. Must have been hard to tell who is who!

Good info on the tyres too.Tyres seem to last well on this car. front rotors and pads however seem to wear quickly when you are driving this hard!

Very nice piece of drive. Your video is comforting me in my choice. This car is running like a Swiss watch. Looking forward to receive mine in February 2015.

Indeed and I am Swiss too. For now with a bit of chassis, brake enhancement it is just perfect.

Phil - The Porsche instructor's comments about the Michelin tires are consistent with my experience. Last week after 8 track days on the Cup 2 tires my lap times dropped drastically. I thought I was having a bad day. Then I realized that the tires were losing grip.

A few days later, with new tires, on the first session I drove like I was just warming up but wow, I clocked a new personal best at the same track! The day was then cut short because I developed a radiator leak, thanks to the lack of the radiator screen. I now have a new radiator and have the screens, and look forward to going back to the same track later this week.

Ivan. I think most agree you get 7-8 good track days out of these tyres and 3000+ street miles. Not bad though.

Phil is using smartyCam HD integrated with AIM solo DL using (I think) OBDII connection for data. Its a very easy, hassle free high quality set up that overlays the data onto the video automatically and all on the same SD memory card with the AIM data sdet included so you can analyse and edit the system after. I will be going this way soon. Im sick of mucking around with individual propriety systems.

Were they corded or just slower?
How was the wear F/R?

OBDII Aim or VBox plug&Play.
It really should be OEM like in a Corvette with and built in Camera and SD card in the dash..

Peter. I much prefer Vbox or AIM as our group all use the same gear so we can load up everyone's data on circuit tools (for example) and overlay to see where some are making up time and others loosing etc. Its a very powerful tool when you are all using the same system and can share the data...

True.

I don't know if the Corvettes come with software to play corvette drovers side by side, but would be really cool. It would mean that everyone with the same car would have the same data...

I was stealing data out of other cars as soon as I got the matching Traqmate and later VBox

I got the racekeeper and while I like the system and all the data, I was disappointed with the video quality. I'm looking to upgrade to the racekeeper hdx2 when it comes out

Trackcar - the Cup2's were not corded, but traction was shot. The tread looked like it was only half worn!

Default OEM 991GT3 bare Wheel Weights

I guess this is as good a place as any to dump the information if anyone is looking. Ordered up a 2nd full set of OEM 991GT3 20" Wheels from Suncoast to have a back up set of rubber ready and available should it be needed. Took one front & one rear wheel over to a Mail Box+ Postal Shipping outfit and asked them if they'd weigh the bare wheels - here's their "postal scale" numbers for the OEM 991GT3 "Platinum Finish" 10 spoke wheels:

Front 9.0x 20" ET55mm 24lbs .05 oz, so effectively, 24 lbs;

Rear 12x 20" ET47mm 26lbs 8.5oz, so @26 1/2 lbs

HTH someone.

I have platinum wheels on GR GT3. Wish I had a second set of black wheels. I love the look of both. Of course the only reason I don't have both is $$. I have the means to buy, just hard to justify having 2 sets of wheels. I don't track. I would consider trading someone looking for plat wheels.
