You can't get much more out of that motor being NA'ed. It's already pushing the envelope .......horse power is over rated to sell cars. So many of these cars going north of 600 HP's the power will not lay down, and only usable on a drag strip. Look at the current GT3 it out performs the 4.0 RS which says a lot about the current car. But I see your point when you look at it from a HP perspective. I say all these cars become collectors because the turbos are coming due to emission standards.

By the way the M6 is a boat and true HP is really 600 with 500 lbs or torque. I tracked my M5, and I tracked the M6 my old 991S would kill them both on the track. The above cars are examples of too much power, and actually dangerous for a non experience driver.

It's not really about that. Most people don't buy these cars so they can drive them on race tracks. They buy them because they are expensive and have impressive numbers.

I hear you, but that makes the argument worse more power to drive up and down the street. That makes all the power less usable ...........I can't drive my M5 in M mode in traffic. Personally th GT3 has far exceeded my expectations on power being sub 500 because it has grip, and puts it down well. I do get the HP war trust me.

I wonder why in the above photoshoped RS image they put the front brake calipers on the outside of the brake disk? Seems like a silly oversight.

In addition, I believe people are forgetting that the drivetrain loss in a rear engine 911 is around 40% less than that of a front engine, RWD car. Combined with the traction of the 911 platform, I think 500hp in this RS should easily compete with any 600+hp front engine, RWD vehicle.

The wheels are off the 997 generation GT3 RS. All the new bits (e.g. fender vents, bubble roof) look like they've been drawn on in pencil with a pretty shaky hand.

Bumping back to page 1, but here's a consideration for all future RS owners. I was looking at my 3.8L 981 build the other day and hated the look of the plastic side vents. I asked the shop to fabricate something to match the front mesh they also fabricated.

Might have to do the same on the RS when it finally arrives. Not the best image, but it gives you an idea:

Nice job. Look smuch better. One of ,y least liked details of the new RS is those scoops. Look very "996 turbo" to me and I hate the way they do them out of black plastic like used to make poly buckets. Shame its too expensive these days for them to do them proper in sheet metal like they did on the 993 Turbo S cars in the late 1990s. They look gorgeous...

Thanks - it looks great matching the front mesh perfectly. Probably going to change the black plastic out for carbon once I get around to looking around for the options.
