If we can't believe the head of GT development who should we believe? Remember he NEVER said that there would not be a MT GT3. He did express his thinking regarding the benefits of PDK-S over MT.

Whatever, I hope he gives those that want a MT in the RS that option. I remain dubious he will but hope I am wrong.

Center lock bolts made of unobtanium and that create downforce above 190 mph... and with internal oiling...

You know what the best GT3 is? The next one....

Is it me or the front fenders are a bit wider?
Maybe the nose is from a GT3, the whole combo looks ugly with the new nose with wider fenders, looks a bit undercooked, with that high splitter and pointy nose..

I guess they will just roll the fenders a bit more.
I wonder what the openings in the hood could possible be fore, anyone any idea's?

4.2L would make a big difference, the rest is just fine tuning, diffuser, splitter, tires, RWS, PDK etc I would think.

AP, I did shut up and drive!
Hurry up, I only have 30K warranties miles left....
agree about the new nose

front hood is different from .1RS, looks like there are two ribs aside the central lowered band, maybe there are not holes but the ribs simply diverge outwards...could be aimed to deviate flows towards the holes in the mirrors and then to the side inlets?

I agree, but this is Porsche, if they can stir the parts bin they will. GT3RS Targa...

Why? How was the 997.1 GT3 all that different from the 997.1RS?
No sunroof, some ram air HP, wider body bigger wing otherwise identical.

997.2 GT3 VS 997.2RS some ram air, wider body, bigger wing LWFW, otherwise the same.

991.1 GT3 VS RS 200CC! some ram air, wider body, bigger wing carbon more CF parts. This was the biggest difference so far, it may continue but not so sure.

Anybody want to start a pool with the winner guessing the reason the 991.2 RS can use a LWFW, but the GT3 cannot?

I don't see a 4.2 happening...wouldn't they have run a 4.2 in the cup cars first?? Cups are 4 liters now

Not necessarily. They ran 4.0L in street RS while Cup continued to run 3.8.

Can't add much other than the new car will be ''better'' and the nose looks odd to me . Maybe it will grow on me .

If you look at the union between the front bumper, the side lights and the front fenders you can see the bumper is just the normal GT3 bumper. The bumper is not wide enough for the RS.

You guys are very perceptive.

The same guy who says that the extra 400 RPM in the .2GT3 is "no big deal" and would rather have a less advanced engine at lower RPM and lower horsepower.

True but they had already built a 4.0 in the 997RS and a ton of cup guys bored their motors out to 4.0...I've not heard of one 4.2L motor.

There are plenty of 4.2L (and larger) 911 motors in the aftermarket from all kinds of shops (including Manthey in Germany which has close ties to the factory).

Here is a thread with some big displacement stuff:

the RSR of the time was running a 4.0 engine? there is no motorsport car with a 4.2 now, I'd have thought a 4.2 in the road car would be somewhat less likely unless there was a convenient part that could be raided from the parts bin to make the extra capacity (petevb had spotted it previously for the 991rs to go to a 4.0 iirc).
