Should I upgrade my GT4 to the new manual GT3??
So, I love my GT4 but I likely can get a manual GT 3 sometime next year. I am still unsure if I should make the switch and I can't justify keeping both.
I love the cockpit feeling of being in the GT4 and the GT4 seems smaller than the 911 which I think I prefer.
Cosmetically, I like the rear of the 911 much better but the GT3 wing takes some getting used to.
The high revving 500hp engine seems like the coolest piece of the GT3.
Anyway, I would love to here some thoughts on making the switch.
Oh, I do not track and these cars are weekend low mileage toys for me. I know. - silly but I think I am not alone.

Have you driven a 991 GT3? That should really help. I bet you can find someone via PCA or rennlist in your area who will let you take a spin.
Clearly the .2 GT3 engine with 500hp, 339 torque, and 9K RPM is an entirely new level compared to the GT4, which is rather gutless IMHO, particularly with the long gearing of the GT4, while the 6 speed manual in the .2 GT3 is geared much lower and funner to shift, but also a better torque multiplier due to the lower gearing.
One thing you should consider is that GT4 prices are stable now but will drop when the GT4 replacement comes out in a couple years. .2 GT3 prices should be stable until the next all-new GT3 comes out as MY 2021.

If you can, why not? It's more of everything and the motor should be amazing (the current one sure is).

I had the good fortune of driving in a GT4 on track, and they are very special cars. Really impressed. But there is nothing like a 911 GT3.

Traded my 991 GT3 for my current GT4. Why?? Wanted a Manual and in the back of my mind just did not want yo deal with potential future engine issues ect. It worked out great because actually made money on my GT3 and love my GT4. But - the Engine is all what the GT3 is about and this is probably the car you do not want you miss. But I will miss my GT4- truly a Special car,
. Plus- you will never be able to use all rhose 500 ponies on the street but geeat knowing you have them.
Make the trade if the opportunity is there. You can always trade back in a couple years

Gt4 is a special car for sure. The 991 gt3 is a spectacular car as well.
But,
the lack of availability of a manual transmission in the Gt3 pushes the entertainment factor towards the Gt4
with the current 991.2 gt3, the manual trans will exceed the Gt4 fun factor.
if you can......if you have the means.....defiantly DO

I don't think its as cut and dried as it appears - there are a raft of differences to consider, for example do you like the tight cockpit feel of the GT4? Do you like the mid-engine balance that the GT4 delivers? The feel of rotation around the centre axis as you corner? Do you routinely red line your current weekender?
If your car is for fun and personal enjoyment (not a track rat) then its a toss of the coin. IMHO A test drive is the way to go (obviously).

Do u feel ur GT4 is underpowered?
Do u think the extra 100+hp is going to add to ur driving pleasure? In other words, u r already pushing ur GT4 to its limits and can handle more? If its no, to any of these questions then u may not get the added benefits from a performance perspective.
Then its a matter of if u can afford it, why not try a different flavour....
