Chalk will be a crap shoot on a $180K car but so was UV on RS.

Is the chalk / crayon on GT3 slightly darker than chalk / crayon on a Panamera?
The colour is a lot darker in the flesh than either the configurator or the youtube videos suggests. I think this simply has to do with the limitations of colour rendering and white balance in digital cameras, and the effect of sunshine/daylight on pictures. There is definitely no hint of beige in Chalk/Crayon when you see it with the naked eye - whereas the youtube videos all look decidedly beige. It's a bit the same with Agate Grey I guess - a lot of photos suggest the colour has a brownish hue, but in person it really doesn't.

Below is a quick rendering of what I believe Crayon/Chalk will actually look like on the GT3, based on the colour sample I saw with my own eyes. Apologies for the poor photoshop skills.

agate grey is very much with a brown hue in sunlight and no brown in the shade or dark

In photos, 100%. To my naked eye, not so much.
But this is all pretty subtle, guys.

To my eye, Agate Grey most definitely does have brownish hue in person ! Which I like. But is that color special enough for a GT3 I wonder ?
ATM I'm on Guards Red, but afraid I will get tired of that color. Crayon intrigues me, but might be too light and too beige for me when I see pics and vids of Pana. Wish I could see that color in person !

I'm blessed with a gearhead wife that hates dull colors ! So we are really struggling to pick a color !

In Australia Carrara White Metallic is a no cost option (as are all the standard metallics). So White + Carrara White Metallic = 24/167, slightly ahead of Crayon/Chalk and GT Silver Metallic

I've seen chalk on a Panamera and it almost looked white to me (like the Youtube video posted in this thread). Definitely not as dark as the renders above.

Hmmm. Maybe it's a daylight/sunshine thing. I held the Crayon colour sample in my hand at the dealership, and the photo I've posted of it is exactly the shade it was indoors.

Here are some stills from the Porsche Pana turbo video. It's the exact same shade I rendered...

Yes weird. I dunno. Just would urge anyone thinking to order chalk/crayon to see it in person before finalizing. I did the same for GBM and changed my order to GT Silver because of that.

I'm surprised the amount of love for chalk. For me at this point, I would go with white or GT silver.

I just came back from the dealer and saw the chalk sample...I think the configurator does a good job showing the relative difference between chalk and white. If you go back and forth between white and chalk on the configurator, you'll see just how bright white the white is.

In person, chalk looks quite light on it's own or next to a dark color.

I'm surprised white is so strongly preferred over CWM. CWM has so much more pop. I know CWM comes at a price and isn't "motor sports", but are those the only reasons, or do those choosing white actually prefer it aesthetically to CWM?

I'm torn between PTS (it would be the choice, but don't want to kid myself), SBM, CWM, GT Silver, Miami, and GR. Lava isn't completely off the list but not in the top group at the moment.
