Default Would you buy a low mile 2RS with significant track time?

I am looking to buy a 2RS. I have come across one that is CPO with less than 200 miles but almost all of that on the track. Would you consider buying or walk away? Put another way, what is break-in on a 2RS and how important is it?

Break-in is at least 1000 miles with the revs kept below a certain level per the manual. 200 miles isn't a lot but I'd be concerned.

It’s pdk. No over revs. You have warranty. If great price and I loved the car I would buy it.

Maybe. I'd try to find out more about the use. 200mi is not much. A typical DE day is 4 sessions of about 30 to 40 miles each, so 200mi is less than one DE weekend . Was it driven to/from the track? How "hard" was it driven? You should be able to check the avg speed it's been driven. If it's being sold by a dealer with CPO I'd seek some clarification from them that CPO is valid despite the car not following break in per the manual.

First, I wouldn't think twice. Second, I was recently told, on Monday, that the break-in mileage on the GT2rs is more to keep the driver safe and get them comfortable with the car. This was from the master tech at a large volume Porsche dealer in California. Is it true, I don't know...

I wouldnt worry about it,

200 miles isn't that much mileage to be significant track time. Let's say the car has 20/30 miles upon purchase, if they possibly drove to and from the track, that's maybe a weekend of tracking. Just get a little more history on it, maybe it wasn't even hard driving. It could've just been somebody that thought they wanted an RS to track and it was too much car for them.

Umm that’s what these cars are built for. I would be more worried about the garage queens.

"Low mile" and "significant track time" are mutually exclusive. If the price is right do it. Little break in doesn't equate to the engine all of a sudden turning into a grenade.

I'd buy one of the Porsche Driving School cars if it was a good deal.

It's CPO, so if you don't plan to keep it past the warranty period, you got nothing to worry about I guess. Break in is another interesting topic, and I personally believe it.

Buy it and drive it like you stole it. The car is ready for launch control launches out of the box! You have CPO nothing to worry about for 6 years.

CPO is a plus but what you really need is a good PPI

That is not significant track time and you have Factory + CPO.
