I've been told that Chalk is a touch lighter than Fashion Gray, and Fashion Gray is lighter than Nardo Gray. But I haven't heard of anyone putting Nardo and Chalk next to one another yet. From the "gray" thread:

Those pictures make it look like Chalk is closer to Suzuka Grey.

i have a Nardo RS6, and it is virtually impossible for a photograph to show how it looks in the flesh (I've never managed it, or even seen one that did)
When I got the car, I though Nardo looked brilliant, and lots of people like it. 18 months later though, it is not exciting me, and I wouldn't buy one again, even for a "low-profile" car. Seem like the novelly factor wears off.

For that reason, i wouldn't personally go chalk on a car I was planning to keep, but it's obviously a personal choice.

This is FG next to NG right or is it chalk / crayon next to NG?

Yeah. I normally don't like white-white cars. But if you take into account that you can add some form of light'n'tasteful vinyl the equation changes quite a bit.

Speaking of it, did anybody see a detailed 3D model of the 991.2 GT3 pop up yet? Would be nice to do some modeling with skin variations.

I wonder whether there is any hope in asking Porsche to make the stuff from the 3D builder public.

I think Miami Blue looks terrible on the 718. Needs a bit more of a stance and some aero.

Agree, Miami looks awful on boxter/cayman. Looks amazing on the 991rs I saw at the ring last year.

Chalk just isn't doing it for me.. maybe with black headlights and wheels?... nah, it's just not a noteworthy color for a gt car.

There's no accounting for taste however

I'd still take chalk / crayon over MB but that's the thing about taste it is in the eye of the beholder

This is correct, sorry I should have labeled them. Though anyone who is even considering Chalk should consider the linked thread up there required reading. There is discussion and pictures of almost every gray available and some which aren't.

It's probably easier to see Nardo in the flesh than Fashion Grey, since it's an actual option on the RS7 and you can special order it on most Audis.

I personally work in digital art and fully appreciate how hard it is to see colors like gray accurately. With cameras doing all kinds of white balance magic these days, and the wildly varying gamma of screens from computer to phone and tablet, it's simply impossible to be able to "show" someone a shade of gray through a picture.

For example, above you can see an RS7 outside in Nardo Gray. Now here is a picture of Nardo Gray on a 911 Turbo, but inside. Again, light temperature, white balance "magic" done by smartphone cameras, it all screws with how it looks. Now with HDR being a standard feature, you can't even just adjust the gamma--it does color and gamma adjustments all across the image.

Seen em both, and Fashion Grey looked way better than Nardo to me. I actually though I could live with Fashion Grey. Chalk looks too light to me - looks like paint primer.
