Because
We like low car counts and open run format

To do what you suggest means 30 cars per group at. 200 each to cover track costs. What's the point? 30 cars on Buttonwillow is crowded.

30 cars total open run format is very wide open and people run together who want to run together. The only time there will be close to thwt on the track is at 9am when the track opens then it spaces out.

EVent is nearly full

One advantage of $400 is you will filter out the people who don't want to spend $ for exclusivity. If that's your goal then never mind my post.
trying to filter out the nissan drivers

agree. I'm totally fine to spend $400 vs $200, so the track is less crowded........and there are less nissan drivers.......

A two run group day might be annoying because I don't think I'd always be ready for the next session if I needed to fiddle with equipment/get gas/etc. Then I'd have to wait for the next next session.

During open track private days I can get a bunch of track time, drive until tired, get off the track and get back on 15 minutes later if I'm in a groove, or wait 45 minutes if I'm not. Besides that, I like cheaper normal track days. I think something in between is hard to make work right.

Speed districts day on Saturday is a really good middle ground of open day vs normal track day. Drive once an hour. About 25 cars per run group.

We will be doing both days. I plan to burn a lot of tires. And gas.

Is there still room in this event. It may be a good place to try out the new GT350 if ford does the recall this week.

Rings true!

For those on the fence, man up and do it. It's a good group of guys and not average bunch of weekend warriors. I would join, but I'll be working for the man that week/weekend.
