So what does your wife/girlfriend think?

Met my wife 25 years ago in a Dealership. She was selling cars and I was a Factory Rep. I had a Lotus Esprit Turbo at the time and she knew what she was getting into. I had no idea I'd be paying for trucks, trailers and show horses for the next 20 years. My Porsche addiction is downright practical by comparison.

Married 20 years and my wife is probably my worst enabler. She had had veto vote on every car and has usually been the push over the cliff in my moments of doubt. She understands how much I love this hobby and always supports the cars, the track and the costs that go along with them.
The wife used to scream taking corners on the street at 50 MPH back when we were first married. Now she does sub 1:50 labs shotgun at Sonoma smiling and encouraging me "faster, faster!!!". That's quite a long way.
When it came time for her to pick her last car, she said "I want a Macan!" and she got one.
As far as RL, she's not on here but knows many of the usual suspects including Trak Car and mooty and when she hears me giggling to myself in front of the computer, she usually asks "What are they posting this time?"
I consider myself very lucky to have a partner that supports me in this nutty hobby.

My wife calls all you guys my virtual friends. She puts up with my car fascination. As long as she keeps her spot in the garage I can have the rest. She has been to the track with me once and isn't interested in going back. She has really enjoyed going on the Smokies trips with me which surprised both of us. I give her total credit sitting in that passenger seat. Initially she was pretty uncomfortable with the cornering speeds on the curvy roads but she is used to it now. She even drove our 991 GT3 down the Tail of the Dragon.

My wife of 17 happy years, tells me better a fast car than a fast women.
I guess the P car is cheaper in the long run.

This is my favorite thread to read ever.. I'm smiling ear to ear thinking of all these awesome supportive relationships. Nice move Bronson.
Let's see.. my fiancée also calls you guys my imaginary friends and has threatened to take the phone out of my hands and chuck it "if I catch you grinning like a fool on that GD forum again when I'm trying to talk to you"...
She loves cars and driving, and always steals my car especially after I just washed it. She knows what she was getting into with my one-track gearhead mind, although she tries to keep it in check by designating "time to talk about cars hours" on weekends :-).. Otherwise we too would be watching YouTube videos in bed instead of doing it. And that would be bad I'm told.
She accepts her fate however, she knows we have a European delivery which I'm going to magically have coincide with our wedding & honeymoon next summer. I told her they are going to place limits on autobahn soon so next summer is last time we can drive a sports car at full-blast, so honeymoon will be spent touring Europe doing that. I think she called my bluff though when she asked "aren't you supposed to have a break-in period?"... (damn it... she's on to me!!)
She drives too fast and I don't really mind. I try to keep her in check by letting her know that "my forum spies are everywhere".. she believes me too, as someone once posted on here about seeing my car going too fast down a street in sf with her at the wheel.. I showed her the post and she was incredulous. She said "I can't get away with anything can I?.. I thought these people were in other countries or something??" . HAHA!
What else, oh yea, pictures.. I'm guilty of overposting so I'll keep it to just one, which captures her spirit while driving.. wind in her hair, singing along to the radio (even when there isn't one) and driving way too fast :-)

My wife thinks I'm INSANE. She doesn't understand why I'm on the same forum EVERY SINGLE DAY.
But she's been incredibly supportive. I have already annoyed her enough to the point that she says, "I don't care, buy them all so I don't have to hear about it anymore". #winning
