Default GT3 PTS Value?

I am considering purchase of a 2014 PTS GT3 and am struggling with whats a fair value for the car?

Details: Mexico Blue, <2kmi, $158K sticker, CPO through 2019, expel on entire car. E code motor - replacement done at factory.

With all the recent talk of the .2 GT3 and launch later this year, known issues with motor on current car, seems market has softened or will in near future.

I welcome opinions on what the car is worth now and how it will fare resale wise on the Porsche roulette wheel compared to non PTS cars in the future?

PTS is more and more of b*tch to get now so I am guessing it will always have a premium, how much depends on the car I guess. Personally, I plan to get black and wrap it in the future and call it a day...until I want different color and then wrap it again...

I would say PTS would always be about a 5% -7% uptick.

Depends on the buyer.

Impossible to make generalizations.

For me, a PTS (in Mexico Blue) would be a negative. At least a 10% discount.

I agree, totally depends on the buyer. Like ipse, I am not a fan of Mexico blue, though would pay a premium for signal yellow. Others LOVE Mexico blue and would be happy to pay for it.
I also think it depends on the car, so a PTS RS is likely to demand more premium than a PTS GT3, just because of rarity.
I'm not being of any help, sorry. Just pitching in with my opinion.

Mexico is absolutely more valuable. Maybe 5-8% over standard. Real issue is assessing 14 GT3 values with pending release and past motor issues.

Are you asking retail or private trade value? I would expect for a Porsche dealer to list a similar car right around sticker. As a private sale car, I would expect it to trade in the high 140s.

Re: 'Demand a premium'? Perhaps because of the higher
'performance' parameters of the 991 gt3 RS over the
991 gt3 or the perceived 'cachet' of the RS. But not
the 'rarity' of the 991 gt3 RS itself, in PTS or in the
standard colors. In reality, there are considerable
larger numbers of PTS 991 gt3 RS built than PTS
991 gt3!

And I would not be surprised if the total number of 991
gt3 RS that PAG produced, when all are accounted in a
RS run that has extended beyond what was expected
for MY2016, will exceed the entire production of the
991 gt3 for all of their three model years - '14, '15 & '16!
But of this I am sure: a PTS 991 gt3 is rarer than
a PTS 991 gt3 RS
! But it doesn't necessarily mean
that a PTS gt3 is more valuable than a 991 gt3 RS!

Op,

Pay whatever you believe is fair. Don't overpay because PTS. A Mexico blue car might be very hard to sell in 5 years time. Same with a purple car. They are popular now. And might be in 20 years again.

Once again, buy what puts a smile on your face when YOU walk up to the car. Forget about the rest.

I am one of those that paid and would happily pay a premium if that is your color. I know of the car you mentioned. It's priced aggressively and would have sold for ask if it wasn't for winter.
PTS cars tend to bring in premium over standard colors for sure.
I would say, see what you can get off. Chances of getting a PTS on a 991.2 when it finally arrives is very low. Live in the present. Buy it and enjoy it.

My two cents - I'd worry less about the value and more about whether you like the car/color. If you like Mex Blue, go for it. If not, don't. I wouldn't pay the PTS premium on a color I didn't love on the chance that I'd get it back on the resale.

I've been watching the 991 GT3 asking prices carefully for a while (bought one a few weeks ago). What I've seen is that there are more and more low priced cars from dealers showing up. They seem to be trades on late RS deliveries. They move fast, but can be had.

I stand corrected, this makes sense; as always is the case with your posts.
