That seems to be a funny way to get back to the 991.1 GT3 configurator. Go through the menu for performance details and you get a 3.8L w/475 hp...

No, it is the old Canadian gt3 display, including the old Canadian prices. It is just funny that Porsche re-activated the old GT3 in preparation for Tuesday, to launch the new GT3.

Porsche usually doesn't add a model to the configurator until it's been announced. And I was under the impression it won't be announced until Geneva which doesn't start until March 9. So I'm still confused where the Tuesday rumor came from? Is it being announced prior to Geneva?

If you do a little digging here, you'll find the source of that Tuesday rumour.

FWIW, the guy that started it has already said even he doesn't have any faith in it anymore.

These things have a way of taking on a life of their own though.

Like the speculation about the configurator...

Geneva press days are 7/8 March. 9 is first public day.

The R was officially launched on the first press day last year, (which was 1 March), so I'd be pretty sure that 7 March is the day to look for it officially

(There will be embargoed press releases with journalists before then, so may well be leaked in advance)

FWIW, Porsche popping up random old car models in random country's versions of the builder is more or less normal. They seem to have a very odd update mechanism where different teams control content but do not control whether it show up or not.

Try trolling the Chinese, Korean and Dutch builder sites. And the Germans, obviously, they also get the cool options earlier than the U.S. builder. (e.g. aero kit for the 718, buckets always available in builder etc)

(this usually only affects the pulldown menu when you are already building. The entry selection page usually is not affected)

If I get one, it will either be red or white. I'm a bit on the fence. Red is kinda my thing but they look so sharp in white and I could add red graphics.

Red with white graphics never seems to look as good as I want it to.

Maybe a few years later when it's paid off and I can afford to spend money on things like wheels again.
