I'm still on the fence on getting it again, but it's odd that my DD never gets flat tires, but my weekend cars seem to attract nails.

I think if you live in a big metro area/daily driver with lots of traffic and crappy pot holed roads, it may be worth it...especially for expensive OEM wheels. That said, I self insure that hazard. I live a good ways from the big city.

Nail repairs are $10. Major damage is already covered by your regular auto insurance.

I wouldn't make a claim on a 2000k wheel with my insurance, and I would not drive a car well over 150mph with a patched tire. Think it works to say it works for some, and for sure not others. The 1000 bucks I spent for 4 years paid for itself with two tires no hassle no problem. This topic has become do I lift or do I not get a lift? I spend more on a coffee on year(:

THIS.

The warranty company makes money on it.

The dealer marks this up and makes money on it.

The salesman makes a commission on it.

I suppose if you're just that risk averse, or you know you have some unique situation where you know you're going to get all your value, then it's worthwhile.

What have people paid for the wheel and tire warranty? Being offered $2,700 for 5 year on GT3 (after initial quote of $4,900!).

No deductible, also covers dents and key replacement.

$900/5yr for my 2016 RS. Small rock stuck between the rotor and caused deep grooves in rear blk wheel. It took 3 trips to dealer and adjustor had to come inspect before they got me a new wheel. I believe the wheel was north of $2K.

I'm more concerned about the wheels than the rubber. Bent or curbed wheel is my fear. No idea how much a 991.2 GT3 wheels costs. But I'm willing to bet one tire + one bent wheel is worth the price of admission if the warranty is under $2K.

Got the warranty for GT3 and they refused to pay for a minor but noticeable bend in wheels, likely because so expensive. Don’t waste your money.

In in the long run Insurance is never worth it except for really expensive catastrophic loss you can’t cover yourself.

I have max deductibles on auto and health insurance and carry term life and homeowners insurance. I will never buy insurance for anything else.

That's insane. Consider what level of coverage you are getting per dollar with your auto insurance, and then consider what they are offering you for $1,800.

That's $900 total for 5 years, and through the dealer when you bought it? That sounds pretty good.
