Anyone know if this is (roughly) the same 4.0 that's found in the RS and R? Would be great to have close relative of the racing engine in these cars like the old Mezger engine and the 997's.

My understanding is that it's close but closer still to the 4.0L that's going to be going in the 991.2 GT3 (some improvements based on 4.0L in the GT3R race car and a few improvements since as well). Hope that it has improved reliability further from 991.1 GT3/RS, but too soon to know for sure...
