Default RS Allocation

Here is a question for you guys, received an allocation for an RS build that is not locked yet. The deal is dependent on a few items and it will be over MSRP by a bit of a margin.

How much would everyone pay in the current market for an RS allocation over MSRP knowing they can build the car how they wish?

I am thinking that I am going to pull the trigger on this, but I am curious as to what others thoughts are. I had originally planned to pickup a 997 GT3 RS until this came along and threw a curve ball into that thought.

Thanks in advance.

Congrats ..........really think it's about how much you want the car along with personal value. I have a RS enrote, and I paid 10% over MSRP. Great for the ones that pulled off MSRP, and it still goes to personal value. For me I will use the car, and no intentions on selling and will only upgrade to another RS over time if lucky.

I traded my GT3 2015 with 4800 miles, and the trade was a fair deal almond with the the tax credit on the same so the starts aligned. I always say deals are personal to the buyer because you need to feel good about the deal. Best of luck to you, and congrats! I had one deal for 25% over I told the deal to fly a kite, and felt good about the 10% over deal. I got the exact car I wanted so big time luck there.

I am new here, because I did just what you describe. I received a changeable allocation and paid 40k over. Seeing that most dealers were more than 50k over for already delivered cars, I thought 40k over was fine for a configurable car.
The only problem is the wait! Good luck.

Funny that you ask. It's because of a bad experience last month with Beverly Hills Porsche that I pulled the trigger on this allocation instead. I made a deal with the sales manager on a Friday night, and the next day they reneged on it. After several calls and speaking to the GSM they still wouldn't honor the deal. It's very disappointing since they are my local dealership and I ended up getting it from another.

really, so when the new 4.0 GT3 with manual available comes out you will pay more? Because the next RS may be 4.0 or 4.2 with more aero and manual? arent prices dropping?

New gt3 still ain't an RS. 997.2gt3 much better car than 997.1rs. Why is 997.1rs more sought after car? Cause it's an RS. Don't try to apply logic to it. Total emotional thing.

That being said, I don't see prices of any used 991 gt variants going up from here.

We are at +10% on the used market here now. But they are still delivering cars till Jan so I can't really see it getting any stronger. By the end there will be as many RS here as GT3 this generation. In many markets there will be more RS than GT3.

If you want it you should buy it.

It's only money.

I'd rather have richer experiences and less money than vice versa.

I turned down an allocation down at $40K over, at this point i think $20K would be my absolute max as i think the market will soften over the winter.

Op,
Only you can decide if a personally specced car is worth $20k more than a "delivery miles" used car.
When your car arrives 991RS will be at MSRP. This is the way Porsche does business. They try to satisfy demand -1. Like Macca said. A lot of RS made = a lot of cars to choose from when the next greatest comes on sale.
