I asked my dealer about installing a camera on my 2013 Cayman S Cabriolet which had no camera. He recommended a company (quite a bit less money) here in Portland. I had this company install back and front cameras. It turns on automatically in reverse. Using two previously unused buttons on the console I can now access either camera while driving.

It was a Nav-TV kit299 camera kit.

NTV kit734 RGB PCM 3.1 Dynamic kit- for radios without Sirius Radio only. This last one I do not

understand as I have PCM with Sirius.

Brandmotion Curb Alert PRO 5000-CA6.

PAC Universal Trigger Output Module.

I'm tempted to give this a try myself. My only concern is of I'm thin enough to be able to find my way thru the Clubs Sport Rollbar. The camera that replaces the license plate light made me interested. I don't want to drill any holes in my RS.

For Europeans this might be an alternative to Nav-TV: (It seems to be easier to install if I get it right):

Started the installation today. After I dropped off my car for an hr, installation called and said it doesn't work after hooking up all the wires. I went back and went though the installation and still didn't work. The camera menu did not appear in the pcm car options. I noticed there is optical orange wire is missing from my system compare to the install guide that came with the kit and the online guide from 6speed, however that should belong to something else. Then I went on to the site to see if there any update file for the Nav tv. I updated the Nav tv unit with the USB cable, and we tried again. The camera menu still did not show. We were gonna give up then I try to on and off my car and tried one time, then the camera menu is there and the camera is working fine. It automatically shows the camera view in reverse, but make sure you release the handbrake otherwise it won't work. The guide also said in order to have the menu showed, you need to pulse the red wire to yellow wire. Since we don't have the park assist, the correct pulse is 6 times. In the video, the guy pulse for 8 times, and that's for deporgamming. So here is a pic while the installation

As of the moment, he still doing the wiring. I will take some pics or even a video later... if u guys want to know anything let me know.

hypeber, Great, thanks for taking photos. It is always interesting to know of any pitfalls you run in to.

Or if you for instance install the the video cable in a smarter/better way then the DIY@6speedonline.

my installer actually follow his whole guide even the wiring for the camera, is kinda hard though since I have a rollcage to get to the hole the guide used. Luckily my installer could fit through it. There is a plastic cap covering the hole, all he had to do is remove it and wire it though and out from the light. It only took him less than an hr to do wiring. He hid the wire under the carpet for me.

I will post the video link in a sec

here is a pic of how far my bumper from the wall.

The NAVTV module connects up the same way. At least the module you want to use in our cars does. They have another module that requires the PCM to be opened up and that's not the one to use.

This modules requires the PCM to be opened up and connections made to the internals. NAVTV has a second option that works great on our cars. I mentioned it earlier, it's the XG-CAM NTV-KIT375. There's also another manufacture that has a similar module, others have used with success. Crux interfacing
