Default 991 gt3 electric steering shaking at idle

Hi

I did a search but didn t find anything about it.

On my 991 gt3 there is some strange electric steering rattling and vibrating motion that happens usually when you turn the steering wheel when parking the car it s like if the electric steering start to shake by itself and it will stay like that for some time or stop if you remove the key.

I made a small video of that

It will not do anything when driving

That is odd. I don't think it's normal.

I will of course take the car to a porsche dealer but just wanted to see if anyone know what could be wrong so if there is a part to order etc they would not loose too much time to find out.

I went out of the car and the wheels are vibrating so I would say it s probably a problem of the electric power steering but don t know if it s the motor itself or play in some parts or make some ecu bug of the electric steering.

What's that bizarre noise that's being made while the wheel is shaking? Also, why is your dash lit up like a Christmas tree?

Not normal. What's the warning on the in-dash screen at :03 in the video?

The dash light have nothing to do with the problem is just tire pressures that are low as I did not use the car for some weeks and last time I was back from track with p zero trofeo tyres and lowered the hot pressures from the track so when cold they were too low.

The oter light that show up is because during the video I opened the door while the engine was running.

The noise is part of the problem it s I think because the electric steering power assist motor start to make the wheel shake without reason and it makes the wheels and steering shake from left to right.

I can replicate this if the car engine is started and I turn at idle the steering wheel all the way from left to right a few times especially on lower grip surface like painted floors at some point it starts what you see in the video.

It would do the same even with the door closed and with MPSC2 with correct tire pressure.

If you drive the car around at speed it s perfectly fine.

I drove the car and there is in fact a service message followed by a
rear wheel steering setup problem message in yellow and then it say that the car can be driven.

Maybe some play in the rear steering cause the electric motor to shake as it do not find enought mechanical resistance?

I will see what the dealer say.
