Wow great comparison! Thank you for your work! IMHO those fins can be made of carbon fiber!

Hey guys, came across your post when looking at diffuser options for the 997. Wanted to give you a heads up on your front though, looks like those 911R ones are now available on Suncoast for the GT3(RS).

Got the following feedback from Suncoast:
"We ship the rear diffuser in a 36 x 3 x 40 inch box that will weight around 17 pounds."
I'm assuming some of that weight is the packaging, but also interested to know if you have any idea how much your current engine piece weights?

That's really cool--thanks. Interesting that the fins are plastic, and that the whole tray part is wider now than the standard gt3's (outer fins only drop down, vs those from the prototype which extend sideways too).

It seems like the diffuser comes with both the panel and the fins. However, the GT3/RS panel has a cut out for cooling that the R panel doesn't have. So, it looks like you'd either have to cut a hole in the R panel or drill homes in the GT3/RS panel to get this to work.

Would have to balance with an appropriate change to the front aero, did anyone run across how much downforce the R makes?

HUGE FAVOR-Anyone that has the GT3 willing to get under their car and measure how wide and long that piece is? (I am fully aware that it doesn't have the fins and the fins also make it a bit wider, but I could approximate that).
Also wonder if there is a way to measure what angle that is that curves up? looks like between 10-15% by my blind eye. (EDIT-Just measured the angle on the picture which comes out to 15degrees, but the part in the picture isn't perfectly at a perpendicular angle to the camera, so hard to know for sure unless someone can measure it or take a picture from the side)
Also, it appears that the R is wider in the rear than the front, does anyone else see it this way?

it looks like that, or a similar diffuser, may be the way of the future for the GT3RS too: http://www.autoevolution.com/news/20...er-106501.html

I ordered one and am going to try it. Given the relatively low price, it is worth some experimentation. I'll run it with the stock wing and with the Crawford wing on my GT3 and post my impressions. I already have the RS/cup splitter on the front of the car to balance the aero with the Crawford wing.
