FI-R is a much better look IMO
I ordered HRE R101 Lightweight's because I get really good deals on HREs (much better than retail on the FI-Rs) and have always been an HRE fan -- I think their finish quality is second to none. They weigh 83.8 LBs.

My wheels should be here in a week or two but here is the mockup they/WB did for me:
Hell yeah!

concave wheels is 1980,but cool still
monoblock are usually convex
some say WEC mag not looking like 18000 wheel, when you lift two of them up with one pinky, you know it's worth 18000

oem, FI-R, WEC all cool
SEMA no so much. mostly rubbish....

When was the last time anyone won Le Mans on HRE wheels?

Regardless of whatever hella sick polychromatic holograph finish the wheels might have

When is the next time I'm going I'm going to win Le Mans on any wheels?
And by finish I'm not necessarily talking about the color-- although that factors into it-- but the edges, bevels and cleanliness of all the little details. I've had many other brands and it's just not the same. Not sure how anyone could argue against HRE, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I'm with you. The WEC wheels don't look aggressive enough / customized enough for the size and offset. They look like a general old face style, and I'm not a fan of the "bubble out" look on wheel spokes that are more present on cheaper wheels again that need to share a single cast wheel face on many barrel widths and offsets and do the "convex" for general brake caliper clearance.

Even the FI-R isn't concave enough in my opinion. Too much of a tuner look for me. But many love it!

I've never been impressed with their offerings or market positioning.

But then again, Lamborghini and Hublot find customers too.

You said it a lot better than I did. Just looks really basic. I'm sure for the pro racecar drivers in here that don't care about looks it's the best possible wheel for laptimes. I don't have track insurance yet so am one of the slower guys in my group anyway. Still have a lot of fun.

I think we're talking about ADV.1 or Savini now
Never thought of HRE as a "bling" type of wheel manufacturer. And no, I'm not affiliated with them at all.

I pretty much just wear Panerai; most people think too boring and overpriced so what do I know?

Panerai? You're one of those guys? The guys that have 12 watches that look the same? No wonder you like HRE. BBS race wheels are like a Rolex Daytona, you buy them once and keep them until you die. Rolex, the watchmakers watch.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. It's your car and your wrist! Just poking fun.

The Rolex/Panerai BBS/HRE comparison is so fitting. Not saying Panerai makes a bad watch, but you need to look a little deeper to understand the value proposition of the Rolex.... and then bend over for Rolex tax but hey, you won't even feel that after the Porsche tax

BBS FTW

Just received our latest photos from our R101 Lightweight wheel installed on a 991 GT3 RS! Here are some of the specs, and more importantly the photos!

HRE R101 Lightweight Wheels specifically manufactured for 991 GT3 RS - Finished in Brushed Dark Clear
20x9.5 - 18.40lbs
21x12.5 - 23.50lbs

If you would like to see more photos, I've just posted them up here - HRE Wheels | R101 Lightweight on a 991 GT3RS - 20x9.5 = 18.4lbs / 21x12.5 = 23.5lbs
