GT3 vs Turbo S

Go with the GT3 but if you can steal a Turbo S at a Dealer right now before the 17s come out you should consider. You may be able to get $25,000 off to help with depreciation

After reading what everyone has already said, I really can't add much more other than they make Turbo's every year but not 3's. I would get the 3, you won't regret it. Good luck in your decision.

Can you please help me find a 1999 or 2000 Turbo? I'm also looking for an '06 :P lol but I agree, the 3 would be my choice between the two

I have test drove both, and spent a lot of time pondering the same decision. The TTS is quicker, no doubt about it. It's much more friendly as a daily driver, so if you need one car, the TTS wins. No question. It is really luxurious, and more tame. And the power is intoxicating.
But the GT3 is more special, in my opinion. It's the ultimate driver's car. It's unique. Far fewer on the road. Louder. More raw. Just plain special. But it is more a toy. It is the car you take out on the weekend, and then spend hours washing and detailing it. You don't daily drive it, because it's your baby. It's the car you hang out in the garage with, having a few beers with your buddies, and just appreciating it.
I chose the GT3, because I wanted a weekend toy. I have a Lexus for my daily driver. A TTS would have been redundant for me.

To not repeat what has been nicely said above - as an owner of both I would sell the TTS in a heart beat for the right GT car (garage space issue). To be fair there is another DD available though if the TTS went. You can always get Turbos.

in the 997 days a gt3 would break your back and rattle your fillings so if you wanted to drive it regularly on the street the turbo made a lot more sense
Today the 991 gt3 is more gentile than a 997 turbo
So I'd go gt3 without question
The 991 turbo is a bore to drive

I've had several cars and I'll say that the 991 TTS did very little for me. Compared to the GT3 it is very anemic. I've had a 997.1 turbo and a 997.2 turbo PDK car, and went to drive a 991 TTS, straight line it's quick for a stock car, similar to the 997.2 type feeling, although, pretty numb after that. They certainly look awesome and the fit and finish is what you'd expect. . The GT3 on the other hand is completely different, it's extremely nimble, responsive, sounds great, and all around fun to drive. I think it looks just as good as a TTS in it's own way and certainly more so in others.
If it's your only "fun" car, GT3 > TTS all day long.

Part of the question is how much you plan to use the car. If it's just a weekend car, then GT3 is clearly the choice.
If you plan to DD the car, you could really pick either car now with the 991 generation, as both are comfortable. The turbo is more under the radar if that matters where you park, and has better rear visibility.
AWD vs RWD is less important. With winter tires, you could still drive a GT3 in winter. I drove a RWD 911 as my DD for three snowy winters in PA, and it was fine. Unless you're regularly driving high mountain passes in winter, either of these cars work just fine in the winter.
The only reason to get the turbo is if you need to regularly use the rear seats

true. I'm not sure its that much better if you're driving the $#@# out of either car as turbo MPG isn't that great when really driving. However, when just commuting, doing errands, etc, the turbo does get much better mileage.
So basically only 4 reasons to get a turbo over GT3 in my mind.
1-better gas mileage
2-rear seats (if you need/want them)
3- better rear visibility
4-lower profile when parking at work
None of those matter to me, other than I would prefer an active rear wing like the turbo, that I could raise/lower, so I can better monitor if a cop is behind me on the highway.
