Default It's time: GT3

Picking up GT3 Stuttgart Wednesday 11/11/15

-Flying out of SanFrancisco Monday early a.m.
-Arrive Stuttgart Tuesday a.m.
-Porsche Museum Tuesday (2nd time - nice)
-Zeppelin Hotel ( compliments of Porsche -Thx)
-Wed. 10a.m. Porsche PU and factory tour.
-approx 1 or 2pm on the road to Spa. RSR M235i's awaiting. 1-2 track days. Thursday/Fri.

Then 2 weeks driving Euro countries: Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Nürburgring Nov15th (2nd time for us. RSR M235i's again for a few laps Sunday public track day. Then, yes will run the GT3. Under 5,000rpm of course 😀!), eagles nest, Austria, KTM factory, maybe Croatia coast, Italy, back to Stuttgart for drop off.

Waited a long time for this Porsche.
With unknowing support of wife and kids, finally making it happen.
"Your buying what?!, going where?!, and without me?! You'll pay for this!"

The Mrs. loves to travel, doesn't understand auto obsessions, and hurt I invited friend as co-driver versus her.

She's come around with the understanding this car will have less depreciation than most.
"An investment." I said. Ha! Kinda worked.
"We'll go on a future trip and PU a euro car for you someday honey"
Her reply: "u mean me, and one of my friends without u"
Ha!

Well, she's there for me now. Has had time to digest and understand a bit more over the last few months.

Thanks to her, my kids, family, friends, co-driver Jimmy Colombotos (who I threw under the bus to ward of the wife's initial reaction), Andrew at Sonnen Porsche, and all who have shared their stories on Rennlist.
Look forward to meeting Porsche people, running around the Bay Area with others, and track days at, our lucky to have, nearby NorCal and SoCal racetracks.

It's time.

Congrats! Sounds like you will be buying the missus a nice purse when you return home. Lucky to get ED for what I'm assuming is a 2016 GT3. Enjoy and please post photos!

Fantastic! I did ED for my M5 last year.

I'm still hopeful I'll get an allocation and can do the same on the GT3/RS.

Have fun, be safe...meaning with your wife! Lol

Just had someone come back from a euro delivery on a UV RS - 1 month itinerary into Italy via my mom's travel agency. She is a Londoner by birth and is a world-class travel agent. She does really well with booking hotels and suggestions if a day should be given here or there.. finding hotels with covered parking etc and the protection of the vehicle were some of the issues that we covered last month in italy with the UV RS.

We have a place in Verbier, CH that may be open this time of yr if you wanted to stop off for a few days in the alps. My dad is there now and says its great weather about 55 in the day and 39 at night.

If I can get a euro delivery on a RS or GT3 - i could not on the build I came up with in oct for jan/feb,which is not what I would want to do at that time of year. anyway I'd do spa and some tracks and base around verbier- hub and spoke some road trips over a couple of months and add in some sales calls. I'd consider leaving the car at my place in verbier as I have a 2 garage spots. come back to the US for some work and then another trip back to europe. I think the car can stay for 3 months before VAT tax is applied?

Congratulations! The Zeppelin is nice place to stay with a pretty good restaurant. I've stayed there on a couple of Euro deliveries in the past.

Same here Oaktown, my wife really like travel, but tracks, not so much. But she ended up enjoying the trip and we even ordered ED Macan for her whilst still in Europe picking up my car.

I have a thread here in our ED.

Enjoy the ride :-)
