The wheels will be the same 19's HREs I ran on my 991 GT3. Currently, the only decision is to pair 325 or 345mm R7 rears with 265 fronts. Typically I run with the nannies full off, but I'd be happy to try with the nannies on for yall. Probably won't be able to report back until sometime in December when I get back on track.

Is there a tire size most interesting? I'm not excited about adding more width to the rear, but the rolling diameter of the 345 is appealing.

Any VIR times for the full course? I ran a 2:04.0 earlier today with several low 2:03 predictive times before I hit traffic. Trying to find a nice benchmark. Manifold?

Hmm, perhaps you've set the benchmark?

I haven't gotten any lap times in the GT3 at VIR (yes, I'm really that lazy), and I haven't been there since we were there together in March, but I'd guess that our times are similar. On R-comp street tires, it's quite uncommon to see cars getting under 2:05. I here that the recent repave has made the track faster, but probably not by a lot?

Be safe out there. You're already going quite fast, so there's probably not much more in the car, and there are more walls at VIR than most people realize.

Hah! Drove with Reed after that lap and he helped me shave a second or two off some of my segments. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any clean laps after that. Think the car has a 2:02 in it, given the extra aero and the wider rubber on the 19" wheels.

Just ran 2:02.7 with a pass before hog pen that cost me a sub 2:02 time. I'm running the 265/325 setup with Trofeo R's which is just stellar.

Well driven 991GT3 will do around 1:57 to 1:58 at HPR. Most seem to be around the 2:00-01 mark. The fastest I've managed at HPR was 1:53.99 on Nittos (lap#3 in the video below). On Hoosier it would be in the 52s and slicks probably 51s. That was in my 996 though so it's not really an apples to apples comparison. My first time driving a 991GT3 was when I borrowed a friends car and turned a few laps at HPR. On original old MPSC2s the best I could do was 2:02 but I was relatively cautious as it was not my baby and there was a good bit of traffic. Loved the car but was not impressed with the tires but in all honesty they were pretty baked and it was a very hot day. Interestingly I found the stability control (don't know what it's called on the 991) very limiting and intrusive when rotating the car under braking. Once I shut everything off and could get bit of a slip angle the times improved. 2 min flat should be a very easy time at HPR to click of in the 991GT3 without braking a sweat. I have to say getting a change to turn some laps in the 991GT3 was a real treat. Fantastic car!

A couple more laps at Sebring.
Couldn't beat my personal best but got close and had a lot of fun at Winterfest.

Thanks.

Racelogic / VBox HD don't have a file yet for the RS. They're working on it

Thanks - didn't see this til now. I ran a 2:02.2 in my GT4 with Eric - seems like it should be fairly easy for me to break 2.00 if I can get 991.2 GT3 (Manual version)?

I certainly couldn't keep up with Randy Pobst in my GT4 when he was driving a 981 Spyder out there.

Default Sebring

Nice work Peter, and nice meeting you.

This past weekend was my first trip to Sebring and I ended the weekend with a 2:23.5. It's nice to know there is so much more potential in the car.

I will run your video side-by-side with mine to see where I am leaving the most time on the track. Six seconds is a lot.

Best,

Joe

Nice to meet you Joe, Sebring isn't a track us weekend drovers just hammer out in a weekend ;-)

Just like I didn't nail Watkins Glen the first day, by a long shot!
