Default Clear Bra washing and wax tips

Just had the front half of my car covered. I was just wondering what you guys do as far as washing and waxing. I assume you only wax the non-covered areas. Stupid question I am sure but this is the first time I have used protection in my 60 years!!!!!

i use meguiars ultimate liquid wax (it's a polymer synthetic) on the clear bra and paint. Suggested by my PPF dealer - you do want to use something on the film. I basically treat it like paint, but you want to use a clear or non-color wax or sealant. 2 years on the car and still looks very good despite many, many track days.

^Agree- Treat it just like you do the paint. And a clear liquid non-color wax/sealant a good recommendation so it does not get caught on the edges. Plus, more forgiving

With clear bra you need to be more diligent about keeping it waxed (compared to paint). Clear bra is softer, and when not covered with wax or sealant, it bonds with dirt particles very well. Then it's very difficult to remove the dirt because you cannot use some techniques that would be ok for paint. So just make sure it's waxed or sealed. I use synthetic sealants because they last longer than natural waxes.

I had Cquarts finest put over mine and very easy to keep clean. Much better than waxing IMHO as that's how I use to maintain it.

Agree with the synthetic wax to keep the film protected. I also use Plexus to deal with swirls and small scratches. Treat first w Plexus then seal with Meguiars NXT.

I had xpel installed last year on the Cayman and was told by the installer to use Turtle Wax ICE because it left no white on the film or the edges of xpel. This year I called Meguiars and they said for all film's to use Meguiars Liquid Ultimate Quick Wax. They gave some technical reason to just use Ultimate Quick Wax. I think they said it made the white GT3,s faster than Z07. Your choice.
