The modegrau / Fashion grey thread

Does anyone have a side by side of Fashion Grey and Chalk? Or can speak to the differences in warmth from seeing them in the flesh?

Chalk is lighter. I mistook it for white at first under the bright lights of the dealership. It also appears to be more neutral, but I also would love to see full cars side by side to confirm that.

Thanks for that insight. I wonder why they didn't just go with Fashion Grey? If given the choice I waffle between Fashion Grey and Nardo Grey, so it's definitely not in the direction I'd like. Though since PTS seems to be off the table for non-VIPs for the new GT3 it's probably a moot point.

When I pick up my Fashion Grey C4S next month, I want to try and get a few pics of a Chalk sample next to it. Will post them if I do.

Please do! If possible next to a whole car--the Panamera has Chalk paint as an option, if you are lucky there might be one you can pose with.

As soon as a Chalk Panny shows up at the dealership in the next couple weeks I'm also happy to take a photo of my Fashion grey versus Chalk. Although chances are nim or someone will beat me to it!

I bit the bullet and decided to go with Chalk for my 991.2 GTS, it comes in mid July...Ill get pics of it and post if you guys don't already have them by then. And yes, its A LOT darker than most people think...its multiple shades darker than Geyser.

Look forward to seeing that.

Now that I've had my Nardo Grey Turbo S paint corrected and covered in PPF I thought I would share. The paint correction really changed the color in a very good way; it now matches what I expected with Nardo. Still some amazing shifts of undertone and hue with different light. The earlier photos looked a lot like Fashion Grey but that was the lighting and background combined with a phone camera albeit a good one (iPhone 7+).
I also looked at a chalk sample at the dealership. Looking at it inside and away from my car I felt it would be close to Nardo. Not even a chance! Both beautiful and I would consider this an option if PTS is too much to go through (and it's a journey - but worth it IMO). Chalk is much lighter and fairly neutral (not much tan or blue there that I could detect). I apologize that I did not photograph the sample against the Nardo but will do so next time I'm at the dealer.
a fairly good representation of what Nardo looks like
indirect light and overcast shy makes Nardo more blue
more direct lighting brings out a wamer tan tone

Thanks BLUdog! Looks great!
I suspect this is true of a lot of greys. Not having much overwhelming colour to them, they tend to reflect the ambient light more noticeably and take on the surrounding colour of their environment. I've found a lot of blue from the sky, yellow from intense sun, or even red from hazy sunsets can be found in fashion grey. Nardo must do the same. Makes for a nice ownership experience as you see you car in a different light (literally) each time.
