991 GT3 vs 991 GTS-The Getawayer(VIDEO)
I'm not going to lie : this man talks like I think(without the accent LOL).
He touches upon a few interesting points.
Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for posting, I looked seriously at adding a GTS to the garage but ultimately passed due to no PTS being available and horrible lease pricing. I could lease a brand new 12C for only $400/month at the time and they're probably cheaper now.

Definitely a future classic!

A rather emotionless review compared to his GT3 video where the car clearly elicited strong emotion. Ironic given his clear preference for the MT. Insofar as usable power on the street is concerned there is nothing new to discuss. R&T said as much comparing the 911T with the 911S in '71, or maybe '72.

Haven't seen the video yet (about to watch it), given that you posted it, he must be going on high ends praising a manual

I think this guy is very honest and straight forward. In one of his Cayman reviews he questioned how many people can really rev match correctly on downshifts, referring to the auto blip mode and that it is a fine feature.
That said, I agree with him 100%. I would still not get the 991 GTS, but perhaps the 997 GTS. I want to shift, I don't care if it's slower to do so by hand, or if the car is slower in the track. If I want a fast track car, I'm not buying Porsche.

The whole Internet meme about the lack of a "proper manual gearbox" in the GT3 is a bit odd to me.
I get the whole the notion that a manual provides a more emotional, visceral driving experience. If we're talking about, say, a 991 C2 or a 997 GT3, where you can actually compare the same car with either the PDK or the 7/6 MT. So, at least in those instances, one can verifiably and perhaps even justifiably say that the PDK simply is less involving than its manual counterpart.
But in the 991 iteration of the GT3 cars, I don't get how one can come to that conclusion -- that is, the PDK-S is simply not as involving (either emotionally or physically) as a proper manual gearbox would be.
How does one know?
How is one so sure that if Porsche, or let's say RUF, did fit a 7MT into the 991 GT3 that the car would be as equally and more enjoyable to drive?
It's not even about going fast (or faster), cuz we all know and can agree that the PDK makes the GT3 faster than it would be with a proper manual gearbox.
The real question is, whether a manual gearbox would make the car more enjoyable (or fun, or involving, or whatever adjective you want to choose) to drive.
I have no idea what the answer to that question is. I just know from my own perspective, given my skill level with a manual gearbox, and trying to heel-and-toe with lobster feet, I certainly will not be able to enjoy or appreciate the GT3 more with a manual gearbox, than with a PDK. Heck, even with a PDK, I feel like I can barely squeeze out 50% of the maximum potential of this car.
I just remember when Chris Harris did one of the first video reviews of the GT3 and he, like many here, lamented (at first) the absence of a proper manual gearbox, but then he went on to comment that given the dynamic and almost frenetic character of the GT3 setup, a manual might have impeded his ability to experience the full potential of the car.
